I use open shelves like you, but I put bins on the bottom shelf so I can slide them out. It makes it easier to pull orders.

I put my store on away mode for the full 15 days allowed. My sales were also way off but still wasn’t horrible. I was happy with the results. I had a message prepared to copy and paste to send out explaining the situation and offering to cancel the sale. To a person everyone wished me a nice vacation and responded that they were happy to wait.

It is hit or miss for me on vacation mode. But one year I was in Key West and sold a designer dress I got from thred up for $700 so I always accept sales while away. You just never know!

Didn't know buffalo bill was such a showman before he started hiding women in a deep hole in his basement. (Jokes) I personally shut my store down completely when I go on vacation. That's just because I want to enjoy it and not be answering questions "When will this ship?" and "Can you combine?" and then spend the day I return dealing with it all.

Etsy has vacation mode. On the app, it's under the More tab at the bottom.

Right, what we mean is that there isn't a vacation mode where your items can still sell, like on ebay. We did use the vacation modes on Etsy, Posh and Mercari. None of them had the option to still sell, like ebay does.

We put our store on "Time Away" for ten business days or less. We have found that this works for us and the buyers. When an item is sold, we quickly send a message thanking them for a purchase. In the same message is a reminder of being away until the stated date. Quick question, I am looking for a new photo booth. What is the one you both use and do you still recommend it ? Thanks.

Hey ya all. Anyone think about turning the inventory to zero rather than put the store on vacation mode. That way hopefully the Algos don’t hibernate the store. Just got this brainwave. Would love your thoughts.

You can put things on whatnot that aren’t auctioned. They have a buy it now option, but it is not very good. You need a lot of followers to make it worth it.

Are you ever afraid putting store in away mode and getting house broken into? With your address on the return label people will see where you live? I'm just getting started in eBay and reselling and have been wondering this.

Yes I'm somewhat worried about it. We have taken quite a few precautions, but nothing is ever 100%.

I use a USPS P.O. Box as my return address on my labels. You can change your address in settings. Hope this helps.

The buffalo population was reduced from 60 million to around 300 head by the turn of the century. He personally killed around 5,000 of them I believe. And yes it was wholesale genocide, nothing else to call it.
