Very fascinating story. As a person who read the novel Metro 2033, I was very interested in the part about Moscow and the second metro. The whole story about the underground of Moscow is a very special and interesting part of the city. Stories about bunkers like these or for example the german goverment bunker are always very fascinating. Very good designed and informative video!

fun fact: atleast three of those declassified bunkers were bought and turned into museums by enthusiasts, so you can visit them freely, I was in a decomissioned Stalin’s bunker near Taganskaya metro station and it was pretty neat also, there are rumors about metro-2 tunnels going all the way to sub-Moscow cities and deep underground military command posts, but several of the posts in question are publically well-known(basically like Cheyenne mt. complex) our country has an incredible ability to make deep underground stuff

Something not mentioned is that particular bunker was equipped in the late 2000s with a receiver for an analog OTH Radar system. This was done incase of cyber attacks as the only way to hack analog systems is to dig the wires up and tap into them which is difficult when buried 100ft under the ground in a foreign country. This system was implemented in order to provide real time data on for launching of ICBMs or even submarine based Nuclear rockets 🚀. It provided the kremlin with the ability to identify and track targets immediately giving them up to 25-30 minutes to make a decision on whether to push the big red button. In the 1970s the USSR built DUGA and DUGA-1 which where massive OTH radar arrays but now days they learned how to build them much smaller. In fact DARPA’s HARRP array is an early version of a massive over the horizon OTH radar initially made as ab early warning system for nukes. They now use it to conduct tests within the ionosphere by the Alaskan geophysical institute but prior to this was in the hands of US Air Force. The amount of energy required by the transmitter is immense and there are a lot better ways to do this type stuff now days… I believe the DUGA-1 system near Chernobyl put out 10 megawatts which is insane
