This tool is a big time and energy saver. I wouldn't grease any other way. I used to dread greasing my mini-excavator, but now I enjoy it.

Thank you!! I was trying to decide between Milwaukee and DeWalt, you just made the decision easier!! De Walt it is.

Our Milwaukee has had to be sent in multiple times due to it stopping pumping grease

I just received my DeWalt grease gun today. I am thinking that the bleeder valve should have been opened BEFORE the "rod" on the canister was pushed in. Seems to me that this would be the way to purge the air. With that purge valve closed before pushing the rod in I would have to ask "where would the air go?" I have also seen a couple of videos that suggest backing off of the grease cartridge a few turns before pushing the rod in as it is suppose to expedite the air purge. I guess I will find out! I am also going to be taking my LockNLube nozzle off of my hand pump gun and putting it on the DeWalt. FYI, I have also heard of some guys cutting the filter screen out as it was causing problems when using heavy grease or when it was really cold outside. BUT, if you do this, be sure to keep the rubber seal that is part of the filter screen as that is the only seal for the canister. You can use a Dremel to cut the screen out.

Great video! Great grease gun! I like the light quite a bit, so useful in low light conditions that you so aptly show! Anything to make this kind of important equipment maintenance more fun while doing a better, quicker and less stressful work.

Always carry a rag with you, wipe away the excess grease on the grease nipple and that way you minimise the dust build up on the zerk. Makes life alot easier

Great gift, Hershel! If I had a need for one of these, I'd be ordering one right now. I sure wish I could think of something so useful to give to a friend who needs it.

On a tube of grease you take the metal end off first then the plastic end after putting it in the gun

Dont pull the rod out until after you unscrew the body and it will cut down on your air locks .
@submarineaz4 жыл бұрын
instructions say to push the rod in slowly. Mine stuck in the disc thing so basically I wasted a grease cartridge figuring out why it wasn't pumping any grease. Took a little wiggling to get the rod to slide through like it's supposed to. Hopefully my fuckup helps someone.

you open the purge valve and then pull the trigger at 3:47, then said you will open the valve again to release air? How, if you have the vale open? very confuse

Since you guys have good friends at local dealers I wish one loan you a plant rig next spring with some riippers ahead of the rows and also maybe borrow a hiller ripper to plant some beans.
@lukestrawwalker6 жыл бұрын
You don't want to grow beans up on raised beds if you can help it. When we row cropped we farmed on 40 inch beds and it's not a problem in cotton, corn, and grain sorghum but soybeans kind of a PITA... hard to cut the beans and get them all in the combine on beds. I flat planted soybeans one year (bout the last year we planted them IIRC) and it worked much better, PARTICULARLY with a fixed-bar platform head (non-flex head) like we had. Later! OL J R :)

I work in a shop that has many different grease inserts. I have to grease some sealed bearings so they are very tough to pump by hand and some pivot balls with inserts that are easy to grease. In Your experience does the grease gun work even with the toughest bearings? Guys at the shop tell it it's quicker to do it the old fashion way and pump.i don't believe them but figured I would asm
@TheRestOfTheStory5 жыл бұрын
If your greasing a lot I'd go with an electric greaser and use it on the easy fittings. Then use a hand pump greaser on the hard to get fittings
@travmit155 жыл бұрын
@@TheRestOfTheStory I sort of do that now. We have one grease gun that's aweful and one that's nice. I go through 1.5 tubes of grease on one set of machines every day then go through 2 on a different set of mahines every day. Was hoping to get the DeWalt and make that go quicker. Thanks for the advice.

@barhorst15776 жыл бұрын
We have two of those and I've found from experience that bleeding gun with the screw on top will burn your seals out in the gun much faster and it takes forever I've learned too full it the same you always do but when it comes time to bleed it back the grease tube off a turn or two then take the rod that pushes the grease forward and pull it out then turn it a half a turn and if you watch closely as you turn it it should jump out just a little more then turn it a 1/4 turn more and it locks the rod out then just run the gun and push the rod in while it's locked and in less than a second it will be blead and you can re tighten the tube and push the rod back in and it saves your gun and is much faster DLHfarms did a video demonstrating this a few months back

Did you guys purchase the Earth Master VT?
@cncuser6312 жыл бұрын
I bought one of these 9 months ago and used it 3 times since. It allows the grease to flow behind the rubber seal and so wastes a whole tube of grease if stored in the box for longer than a couple of weeks, not a good product.
@TheRestOfTheStory2 жыл бұрын
Hang it on the wall and use it when we need it. Hasn't missed a beat. Much better than the Lincoln grandpa had. What kind of grease are you using that's what I'd look into.

@@TheRestOfTheStory what grease are you using? I had an old air grease gun from HF that sucked. . have a whole cabinet full of 20 volt dewalt tools that never let me down so i got one of these.. I have 3 old School busses i have restored and like to keep greased up well.. i look forward to this dewalt. but it will hang on the wall for prob weeks at a time between uses..
