30 years ago, Pinhead had to wait until somebody picked up the box, now we print them for him. Awesome work man!

Be sure to check out my latest design on Thingiverse optimised for resin (but I haven't worked up to printing it myself, yet).

I have tried making a perfect one and I keep having trouble. The upper and lower arts always ends up flat where it sits on the board and loses the details. If I try to do a raft or brim it fuses to it and can't remove even if I change the gap settings. Also in between the art the lines show through the empty areas I have hear that'd called bridging but still new and have tried fixing it with no success. I don't how people are making these so easily. It's an awesome puzzle and great detail just been a pain for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know about easily, there's been plenty of failed attempts. The detail in the top and bottom is pushing the limit of what you can get out of a 0.4mm nozzle. First thing I would suggest is check in preview mode so you can see what the slicer is trying to do and not inserting extra support or skipping thin walls or something unexpected. I get prominent lines where it bridges, too, but my intention is to fill them with paint anyway. A few settings come to mind "Print Thin Walls", "Minimum Support Area", to reduce the bridging lines I usually add support only under the circular disk with 100% support interface and no support anywhere else using the min area setting. If it's not support and the raft still sticks, maybe temperature is a little high, leading to too much layer adhesion, maybe? Due to the shape it'll probably need a razor to trim off anyway. Brim always makes a mess.

Haven't tried, myself. Intending to but haven't got over the hazchem hurdle. Others have had success but probably hollowed out and added supports themselves. Here's my attempt at preparation for SLA www.thingiverse.com/thing:4977426 www.thingiverse.com/thing:5154460

Should the core use any support? If it does then how much?
@TroyMackay
@TroyMackay 2 жыл бұрын
No. No support for the core.

@@TroyMackay Also, should there be adhesion for the box pieces? When adhesion is on it ruins the details facing the bottom layer of the print.
@TroyMackay
@TroyMackay 2 жыл бұрын
@@lissetteacosta1 No, it doesn't know what is outside or in so just fills in the bottom layer - same with support. I use a little support under the dials (optional - it will bridge but looks messy) but turn up minimum support area so it only goes there. Otherwise use raft if you want.

@@TroyMackay Ok so I finished printing the core, how do I separate the pieces so that it’s able to move?

Are you willing to make and sell one for a reasonable price

Not really my thing. Been thinking about it, though. Starting to warm up to the idea but not yet. Once I am happy with the design I might do a small production run.

You can send me a DM through one of the model sites like thingiverse - but I wouldn't consider it private in the current situation
