how many PV panel can block out by one PV STOP ? I want to block out 100% of PV panel area.

I build something called a "Solar Furnace" where I use black surfaces to heat air, so I've measured the temp of black objects in sun. They can get HOT. Your coating is awesome, but because it's black, it's going to get hot if you leave it on there for several months. What would the long term damage to the cells be if it gets too hot?

Solar cells themselves are black to ensure they absorb all wave lengths of light (for maximum PV efficiency). They are designed to withstand heat (although it is a little known fact that solar panel electrical generation efficiency declines if the solar cells get too hot). PVStop is black for this very same reason, it absorbs all wavelengths of light to ensure no light leaches through to the solar cells and efficiently "blocks" light from reaching the cells and energising the solar panels. The coating actually insulates and protects the solar panel from external damage. PVStop does not cause any short term or long term damage to either the solar cells or the solar panel system.

Ummm what 12 months. I was interested in a way to safely turn system off without damage. This seems like a problematic solution
@foranjim3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom, 12 months refers to the amount of time the coating can be left on the panels without any deterioration of the coating. The product will safely turn the systems at at the source by blocking the light (light is the source of power generation). PVStop is now used by a number of the worlds largest fire departments. I would need more information from you on why you believe it is a problematic solution in order to address your concerns.

U send this to EU?

Yes, we are starting to roll out the product across the EU. Which country are you in?

Why would I use this? I can just enable 1v mode on optimizers and deenergize the system
@foranjim2 жыл бұрын
PVStop is designed for first responders and electrical technicians in an emergency response situation. Optimisers are an electro mechanical solution that operate downstream from the panels, each panel is still individually energised as long as they are exposed to light. There are also questions on the reliability of "rapid shutdown" systems in emergency response situations ie will they ""fail safe" if damaged or compromised. PVStop is the only accredited Tier 1 safety solution that "switches off" the power produced by solar panels at the source of power production and works effectively on all types of solar PV systems.
