I honestly appreciate Pyro's genuity, he might be an irreversible degenerate but the fact that he refuses sponsors that forbids him from shitting on the game is enough to tell you how much effort he puts on making his criticisms as informed as possible. I mean I knew going into this the game wasn’t going to be mind blowing but after playing for a few hours it is some of that good old fun!

We Happy Few combat is slow though I feel like it fits with the game, since some of the characters probably had little to no combat experience before the events of the story.

If you haven’t noticed yet, Carla will voiced by the same person that voices Sombra in OW, and Raze in Val. Ryan, if you’ve played Control and met Arish then you’d recognize his voice. What I’m trying to say is that Dead Island 2 excels in many places but falls short in others. In a way it feels like there wasn’t good communication between the different teams and the directors lost the creative direction they originally had for the game. My hope is that they continue to update the game for years to come similar to Dying Light. Who knows maybe they’ll update the story, or the combat, maybe add more areas to the maps, or potentially they’ll make the executive decision to change everything! Only time will tell what changes they decide to make to the game.

I picked Jacob for my first full playthrough the guns are fine and I think the weapon attack speed depends on the weapon your using it can also be upgraded too but a issue with the game on solo is the fact that after all your quests are done there's nothing to do except try online which way funner then solo tbh

I'm not planning to play Dead Island 2 (I didn't even play the first Dead Island), but in my opinion, the game should've been much better in all means for a game that stayed in development for TEN years. You can’t change difficulty, you cat explore the world without being chased by 50 zombies, you can’t enjoy the game, you can’t go on a killing spree because even the weakest zombie dies after 10 slashes, pure disappointment and the worst part is I paid for the gold edition.

Dead Island 2 was the first zombie game i played after so many years, amost a decade to be exact. I love it so far, it's really refreshing to have such a game in a genre that's been milked so much. Pyro seems to enjoy games that are in le head only.

That's actually disappointing. I'm not even playing the game and I feel like my hands are feathers now with how floaty those attacks look. The parry spam also makes me shake my head hard.

It was pretty good actually, I think it's unique, yet small for the years worked on. (Definitely rushed out the gate plot-wise, but was SMOOTH at launch)

The truly disappointing thing about the game is there's no replay value whatsoever I mean you can maybe have a little fun running around testing out different characters but I mean what's the point and the map feels smaller than the other Dead island games

I will agree with Pyro about the game's combat not looking as great. But, at the very least, the gore tech and graphics do look amazing. But also, to make a game actually good too, it needs to at least have combat that feels like it has some weight, and so on, as Pyro has mentioned. You can have some story stuff going on and whatnot and it doesn't necessarily need to be the best or anything. With a game like this, people expect some really fun combat since they will be looking more at wanting to do zombie killing than the story and whatnot. Maybe they had too much time being spent on making the gore look as good as it is, or working on other areas of the game, idk. But maybe they can update the game to at least make the combat feel a little better, idk. I will say that I haven't necessarily played the game myself, but I have watched some friends play. And the most interesting thing out of everything was pretty much the gore. So yeah. Other than that, I have played the new update put out for Dying Light 2, known as the "Gut Feeling" update. They basically improved the combat feel, physics, and changed the way the gore works on zombies and other enemies. Now, zombies actually have noticeable marks based on where you generally hit them. It isn't anything like Dead Island 2's, but it still makes the feel of the combat in the game a lot nicer than it used to. There is a bug with one of the combat moves you do, specifically when you go to throw an enemy with a charged throw. The normal throw of throwing them left right or behind you will make them stumble and result in being stunned briefly. The charged throw, should make them actually get tossed, going into ragdoll mode in whatever direction you throw them in. But with the new update, they just fall down in front of you mid-throw. I'm sure it will get fixed at some point if it hasn't been already. But yeah. I guess what I was trying to get at by mentioning Dying Light 2 is that originally, at the launch of Dying Light 2, the combat didn't necessarily feel the best, but with time, Techland was able to improve it, making it feel a lot more satisfying to fight zombies. With Dead Island 2, it may be the same case here as well, maybe. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I've been playing it and I love the game! The details are great, the leveling system and gameplay feel good. Everything is surprisingly balanced and I have played it since yesterday morning. You don't ever feel like a God and it's like a funny B movie like it set out to be!
