To many experiences are out there like this. sorry to hear of your disappointment ... so many uneducated Baby Christians being swayed by these false teachings.. the garbage those people get away with is very sad...the charsmatic/pentecostal movement is a cult!

I question it because if it is still an active gift of the Holy Spirit, it would be demonstrated throughout all of the the Church's history and would not be restricted by denomination. If speaking this "heavenly language," which the aforementioned pastor said was not the same as what happened on the day of Pentecost, was truly from the Holy Spirit, we would see it happen in every true Christian Church. It wouldn't be a human tradition thing, a new movement, or only in certain Churches.

I've always spoken my prayers in English, and God has replied in English. God is the Creator of language. It's no big thing for Him. I'd rather give credit to my God for knowing all the languages than to glorify myself in saying I spoke some "heavenly" language as evidence of having the Holy Spirit. When people can use some Holy Spirit quality to put other Christians down, that isn't of God. When that lady tried to convince me that I wasn't saved, that was direct Satanic attack.

@@nb4749 same thing happened to me years ago and I tried to babble the nonsensical sounds of a baby over and over as the Charismatic women in my bible study group told me I wasn’t saved unless I did this! I had been a spirit filled Christian for many decades by this time and had never Heard that there was such a thing as a “prayer language”! Anyway nothing ever just emanated from my mouth the way they seemed to do so I gave up and changed Bible Study!

Speaking in Tongues is the evidence that the HOLY Ghost is in that person. Remember Paul when he preached to Cornelius. And remember 1 Corinthians 14:2

I find it very strange if you received speaking in tongues but can not speak in tongues at will, whenever you wish. I have known thousands of people who speak in tongues, and it just is not like that.

@@commonconservative7551, To answer your question, Yes, tongues was always interpreted very clearly. There was never confusion when it was done properly which was all the time, out of all the thousand or so that I heard. I only heard one prophecy which was a bit questionable, when someone went on about eagles or something, and he was stopped by the leadership., but I never heard anything weird when it was interpretation of tongues, not that I can recall. Sometimes people stumbled a bit, as being hesitant to give something, and sometimes people stopped short of something, or sometimes someone went too far, and began to repeat the sum and substance of what they had already given, but never was there anything given that I would call confusing. God really was with us, and kept us in his care, in the right way, as we did this. It was always clear, concise, so much so, that nobody could misunderstand it. Never was it of the Devil.

I have the greatest respect for John Barnett's teachings of the scriptures because they take into context the whole paragraph, chapters and even books whereas a number less credible teachings tend to concentrate on a few isolated verses and attempt to make some sort of doctrine out of it. As with George, I disagree with the cessationists' views of prophecies, tongues etc.. as I have experienced them myself. However, it is simply not right to level personal attacks at John Barnett and accuse him of being a false teacher etc.. Jesus said wrt to false teachers to look at their fruits and I see more fruit from John Barnett and a genuine love and passion for God than a majority of tongue-speaking believers. How do I reconcile this teaching with my own beliefs? "We know in part and we prophesy in part..." tells me we don't yet understand everything except what God Himself reveals to us where we're at. This issue is not a big enough one to warrant a whole lot of argument and possibly causing a disunity amongst the believers about. Causing disunity would create more grief in Holy Spirit than a belief that tongues no longer exist. Holiness, righteousness, unity of the believers, having the sole purpose of our lives be to glorify God's name among the nations... those we don't do anywhere near good enough so lets start there instead, regardless of whether we believe prophecies and tongues have ceased or not.

Just because some of you may have experienced some of these things doesnt mean they are from God. Pagan religions have these same demonstrations -tongues, healings, etc. Just because you think you're special doesnt mean you are free from deception

There is not a single scripture that teaches that there is a prayer language. Also tongues means languages. Speaking in tongues is speaking a language that you have not studied by the Holy Spirit. Tongues has never been gibberish. That nonsense began with the Parham movement.

@@cherokeepurple4480 Paul flatly stated that no more than 3 were to speak in a tongues with an interpreter. They are to remain silent without an interpreter. When some speaks the word of God they are prophesying. It doesn't always mean foretelling and it certainly doesn't mean that now because the canon of scripture is complete. Also praying in the spirit does not mean praying in tongues. No scripture teaches that. Praying the perfect will of God is praying in the Spirit.

Amen! And God chooses how He moves and when He moves. You can try putting Him in a box but you’ll fail. I’ve received healing and the gift of tongues in Jesus’ name. Do you speak in tongues? And is the translation ? You can't have someone speak in tongues if no one is there to translate.

If the Holy Spirit is praying that doesn't mean that you are. Men tend to get in their own flesh for pride and money. There are no such things as new revelation. That which God wants us to know has been written in his word from Genesis to Revelation. No one is to add or subtract from this Word of God that had been written centuries ago and is Now Complete.

Kae A.....I don't think the Holy Spirit increases. He is who He is, God. I think it's more like we decrease, and it appears as though He increases. As we die to self, we begin to live for Him, and grieve, and quench Him less.

My sister spoke in tongues she thought until I put her under hypnosis. It was Navajo from a past life. People work themselves into a emotional trance and the spirit remembers past lives, I believe this is what it is. Find my long earlier posting with the video title in it and go see it. When I was in a Hyper Neo Pentecostal Church I did not speak in tongues. I was always insecure. After I left I was delivered of this pressure and began to be more biblical founded. Since then nearly 10 years in 2 of 3 instances of great personal devotion I privately spoke in tongues. But it seemed like some semetic language and not some flintstone yabadabadoo gibrish. Having said that I am truly reluctant to speak in tongues in Church when I would start speaking in Tongues (happened once or twice) immediately I shut up. I don't want to attract attention to myself nor have I yet found a church with an interpreter.

I had the same experience and was opposed to tongues for a long time until... after water baptism I was also baptized with the Holy Spirit and tongues. I cant explain it, I dont understand why it happened that way for me and differently with others. Maybe that's just what I needed.

I have left and the pressure for tongues has lifted and I can pursue my spiritual journey in a peaceful and God filled way. My sense of relief from the pressure is palpable.

Speaking in tongues is the first evidence, In every instance, that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit.

Amen! The real false prophets will be ones who teach against the Holy Spirit and tell us "That is emotionalism and worshiping your feelings" and it is often done with such pride and smugness. I hear some say accusing things like "You say Gods word is not enough if you say you can speak in tongues." It is a trick. The bible tells us Gods word is not enough. All the works and prophecies and even miracles mean nothing without Love being at the center of it. Jesus gave the greatest commandment in Matthew 22 34 to 40. This is all about how to love the Lord and receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost so we can carry the good news affectively to the world with the power of his love and not our own. This is spiritual warfare and we need to fight with our souls. We need the gifts of the Spirit. We were meant to have them for our every day lives and for our calling.

Being baptized under John the Baptist, you KNOW they heard about Jesus... John was the voice in the desert crying "Prepare ye the way of the Lord!". In fact, the majority of this guy's "proof" is taken out of context or straight twisted like this. It's a shame, I can only hope people read the Word for themselves

@@paulgilhuis1 Why not both? Who is to say healing would be more useful? The healing of the body is temporal since it will pass away, but the healing and education of the spirit is eternal. For those living just before the Rapture, I believe it is essential.

I know there are counterfeits even in the body of Christ, but that does not mean all are counterfiet. I do not believe you speak to others in an unknown tongue, that would be of no benefit. I specified that it is for the edification of your spirit and speaking to God when words fail you. If the Holy Spirit gives you something to say, you speak to them in their own language which is unknown to you, and that would be a miracle, but you cannot do this of your own accord, because we cannot perform miracles by our own power. As to tongues and interpretation in public gatherings, I wont speak to that because I dont have an answer. You also forget that Jesus performed miracles of healing and feeding multitudes out of compassion. He healed people because they needed to be healed. 2days after Passover this year my body burned while I was face down repenting for the 3 rd time in a 2 week period and when the burning stopped I picked my up from the pool of sweat and snot and tears I began to fluently speak in a unknown language at no effort I didn’t know or learn it since then I have had dreams of wormwood fireball and visions so if he’s right I’m been spoken to by the 144.000 or I am one and I’m not exactly happy to hear it as I don’t feel worthy xx

My husband told me it was my hormones, I knew he was wrong, and asked Abba to confirm His fire on me. Shortly after that, I had a dream and I saw a house in flames. It was a typical house with a pointed roof. Inside the house, I could see the back of a man, moving around. He seemed to be at the kitchen counter, working on something. I was told he was my "husband " I was alarmed, thinking the house was going to collapse and he would die. As I watched, the house changed shape. I could now see " Chambers" with burning embers, and blue, red and orange flames. It was really very beautiful. That was the end of the dream. Later that day, (oops here comes the fire on me now as I type) I was told by the Holy Spirit that the house was my heart and Jesus was my husband inside of it. I was told by a friend that I was required to ask for the gift of speaking in tongues according to the Bible. I did not want that gift, I thought it was wierd. But I asked for it for about a week, then forgot about it. About 6 months later, during Christmas season, I had just finished reading my Bible. I turned the light out and began to make up words of love and worship to Jesus and sang to Him and Father. I was feeling especially happy and grateful. The next thing I know, a star appeared in my doorway. It was made of every color you can imagine, and was very beautiful. It was floating toward me as I sang. I was not afraid, nor surprised. It felt familiar to me, and I felt very peaceful and joyful. Then, to my surprise, the star floated right inside my chest!!! In that exact moment, I realized I was singing in a language I had never heard before. I have been able to speak it ever since. I do not speak it out loud when anyone is with me, and only two or three people have ever heard me speak it. It is personal between me and our Father. I believe it is His prayer language for me, and I am speaking mysteries. I do not know what I am praying, but it doesn't matter to me. I know where it originated from, and that's enough for me. satan would not be able to inhabit my body while I was singing and worshipping my Savior. No way! As for the 144,000, I believe I have been shown I was part of that group. I certainly do not deserve it, and many times I doubt it, but there are quite a few on KZfaq who have been given that same understanding. Graph Guy I Corinthians 14 specifically speaks of UNKNOWN tongues. Verse 14 states it is the spirit praying and you don't understand it. Verse 15 says pray with the spirit (unknown tongues as identified in the previous verse) AND with the understanding (my own language that I do understand).

What's worse a doctrine that might be wrong or a man sleeping with his stepmother? When you read the book of Corinthians you see that the Corinthian church had huge problems. You had people getting drunk in church, people sleeping with prostitutes, there was a lot of divisions in the church and many other sins and yet all the gifts were present in the Corinthian church. So if the gifts can be present in that church despite all those sins then I am pretty sure that the cessation doctrine could not stop the manifestation of the spirit

Trish Wragg no you can’t move mountains, talk in tongues, heal, etc because you’re NOT an apostle nor were you touched by an apostle who had the power to grant spiritual gifts to those of the faith. Paul stated super clear in 1 Corinthians 13 that spiritual gifts would pass away. Read Acts 8 and 1 Corinthians 13. Besides those things served a specific purpose which has already been fulfilled. To know the whole and perfect word of God you just need to read your Bible. Everything has already been revealed - hence no more signs and wonders are needed. @@mattm4557 1 cor 13 is speaking of when Jesus returns and not when we have a complete bible...what about the end of the gospel of mark which states....these signs will follow. Be open to the working of the Spirit but also be ready to test all miracles by the word of God...the tv evangelist miracles are an obvious deception...we had a local preacher who stated he was a cessationist and stood so firm and convicted until he retired and went to the third world and witnessed believers praying for healing (no hospitals or doctors) they didnt pray for money etc.. when he came back he repented...remember that even Jesus couldnt do much in Nazareth because they did not believe...be open to the Lord to move at any time. If you read the new testament with the leading of the Spirit (1 john 2:27) you will find thatvwevare to ask tor the gifts ... the greatest and better way is love (1 cor 12 into 13)

Colin Saxton please read this comment, hopefully it will help you better understand Gods word. Paul says that he revealed to us everything God revealed to him. Acts 20:20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. The word “perfect” in the verse below is the Greek word “teleion” which literally translates to “complete, having reached an end”. It’s saying the gospel is complete, that no more revelations would come. James 1:25 “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it--not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it--they will be blessed in what they do.” Same message here in Colossians 1:26 “the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord's people.” And again here in 1 Corinthians 2:10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. It also says this about the gift of prophecy. 2 Peter 1:20-21 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Paul goes on to say that if anyone (even an angel from heaven) teaches anything new or different from what has already been revealed in NT they are a false teacher and are accursed by God. Galatians 1:8-9 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. So... if spiritual gifts (prophecy, tongues, and interpretation) were all about revealing the word of God before folks had access to the complete word of God, what we now call the Bible (which they were), once the complete word of God had been revealed (the Bible)... what purpose would the spiritual gifts serve? We also know that Miracles were called signs because they pointed the way to Jesus, they were done to prove authority and credibility to those revealing a New Testament. But that’s now already been revealed and we know from scripture that no further doctrine, covenant, or testament will follow. So again miracles no longer serve a purpose. And in Acts 8 it clearly shows that only the apostles had the ability to make others capable of spiritual gifts/miracles by laying hands on them. This was obvious to Simon who tried to bribe apostles into giving him this power. So, after apostles died miracles/spiritual gifts would only last until the last disciple died of old age who had been touched by the apostles and blessed with the Holy Spirit. This is why you don’t see miracles/spiritual gifts anymore. The time for such things has passed and as it says in 1 Corinthians 13, what remains is faith, hope and love because love is the fulfillment of the law (Romans 13:10) and these things are what God expects us to rely on to save as many souls as possible before judgment day. 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. I believe when you have asked Jesus Christ to save you, to live in your heart then God sees the difference in your life, if you are a true believer or if you are still living like you did before you were saved, then we can receive His Holy Spirit, for He says why would you put new wine in an old skin, our bodies now belong to Jesus, we are His walking temple, the Holy Spirit can now dwell in us and we pray in tongues straight from our hearts to the throne of God. In new testament the apostles were in the upper room with many others when God's Holy Spirit filled them like cloves of fire. Just think being filled with all of God's Holy LOVE. We really got to walk the love walk of Jesus for His Holy Spirit to dwell in us. I sure still believe in miracles to. How does one reacts when receiving the Holy Spirit? I felt sometimes like someone above was holding the bucket with the spirit of holiness and was pouring it on my head and shoulders with a mug... Other times, He would dump the hole bucket on my head and I was being filled inside with light! What is this? I don't speak in tongues but I feel them in my throat...

I heard of a local church that will not allow new members if the individual has not spoken in tongues. Paul said tongues is the least of all gifts yet man has made it the most important. I’m convinced that’s because people want to show off and claim they are more sanctified or more filled with the Holy Spirit than others are. That’s clearly pride and is a sin. I don’t care if I ever speak in tongues. I don’t practice nor do I give it any thought. If God wants to give me this gift he will equip me. We must get our eyes off of ourselves and back on God.

There are two operations of speaking in tongues in scripture: 1) The first evidence that believer has recieved the Holy Spirit and the born again believers private prayer language for self edification. 2) The gift of speaking in tongues that is accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretation for the edification of a church assembly.

She had Trigeminal Neuralgia, also known as the Suicide Disease because it feels like lighting bolts hitting your face and there is NO medical cure! This was documented and probably searchable on KZfaq. My best friend took her there and brought her doctors paperwork with them, expecting a miracle. Their faith was high! And God did heal her there! But, I was asking the interpretation for it from others and there was no one . Your heavenly prayer language is not to be interpreted by others, but is between you and God and is for the edification of your spirit. I was baptized in water and the Holy Spirit at 28 and I have spoken in tongues for over 40 years. I'm sure if it was not of God he would have let me know by now, but thank you. Consequently, Paul writing in 1 Corinthians corrected the Corinthians for abusing the gifts, yet in another book he tells the church not to dispise prophecy and no where does he tell the Corinthians to stop the gifts. Nor does their abuse of tongues negate tongues. Paul says he thanks God that he speaks in tongues more than the whole congregation a Corinth. The correct response to abuse is expunging the gift, but, as Paul did, to correct the usage.

A person can be saved without speaking in tongues. I do believe that people who are actually saved follow the most important commandment, which is the law of love. So when people get angry and behave in an ugly manner just because they disagree, that is when I know they have not really allowed Jesus to change their hearts. They have head knowledge of salvation, but have not actually experienced a true conversion. That makes me really sad, so I pray for them.

First, contrary to what the speaker of this video said, "Speaking in Tongues" absolutely has not stopped nor changed and is very much just as relevant and happening today as it did back in "Biblical" generations long ago. Second, yes there is indeed many people "faking" and this would be the vast majority as true speaking in tongues is somewhat of a rare occurrence by comparison and is truly an amazing event to witness and behold even more so to be a part of and there is an enormous difference between true actual "speaking in tongues" and the vain meaningless actions seen across so very many churches often not knowing any better and worse many of the people involved often manage to deceive even themselves attributing to God that which is not of God and that itself should be a cause for concern. That said though, the bottom line to your question is that most people are indeed "faking" but there is also very real actual "speaking in tongues" that is still happening today just as it did in Bible times and though a smaller minority by comparison it does indeed very much happen today!

I have decided that the power of God is in the preaching of the gospel. The preacher on the corner or behind the pulpit speaking the whole truth of the gospel. After all it is a two-edged sword. It was the word that entered my ear then convicted my spirit of what a horrible hideous creature I was. Terror filled my whole being. I told God how sorry I was that I did all my evil against him. In all my years of carousing, cheating and just bulldozing my way through my life and the lives of others it was the truth preached that changed my mind. I got home and I saw the toilet bowl in the bathroom at the end of the hall and I fell on my knees and cried out again that I was so sorry and so ashamed of what I'd been doing. I told him I understood then that that wasn't what he created food for and I was so sorry and I asked for his forgiveness. At that moment compulsion was gone! I had been practicing bulimia for 20+ years, it was killing me and I could not stop and my stomach and my throat and my esophagus hurt hurt hurt. At this point my demons weren't hiding anymore they were cheering me on because I believe they knew I was close to dying from my hateful practice. A month after my rebirth I lay in my bed and a huge male figure appeared standing next to me. He was in a coverall like fencers or racecar driver and built like a world-class athlete. So tall his head was through the ceiling, so I thought. This thing was emanating hate; seething boiling venomous hatred. I didn't know much of the word of God but I remembered that "we are not given the spirit of fear" that's all I knew of that verse and yet it worked and he disappeared and I slept. Sometime after the comforter and helper let me know that my strongman wasn't too tall for the room but at the moment I repented and was truly sorry was when he was beheaded. Also that the hate from that thing was what I took into myself to destroy myself. After a while the demon came back with seven more even worse and they did attack, oh boy they told me my mother didn't want, my aunt took me in bc she had to but she didn't want me and the people at that church don't want me either so they said I needed to return to them bc they want me. I hung onto the scriptures of what it says about the number of hairs on my head, that he knew me from my mother's womb, from the foundation of the earth. They left me but the attacks kept happening and they would do all they could to keep me from calling out the name of Jesus. I don't speak in tongues, I don't prophecy I study, I pray I watch and do my best to keep watch as for like a thief in the night. I am saved

There is a language that Scripture talks about that even the person praying does not comprehend with his own mind. It is a communication between that person's spirit and God alone. Why does God allow such communication? Ask God. Just because *you* do not understand what is going on does not mean God is not in it. Evil, too, has an unknown language not known to man. And he uses it to curse. If you reject God's discernment, you allow your ignorance to open spiritual doors into your life that you had no intention of opening. DTBM…..The gift of healings, in my experience, is related to an anointing. When the anointing isn't there, you can't heal anyone. Not sure Paul could turn it on and off as he desired. It's as the H.S. wills. God healed a little three year old sitting on my lap of the Failure To Thrive Syndrome one night. I felt it. Not physically, but, spiritually. This overwhelming feeling of love was flowing into her. I met the girl, and her foster parents, for the first time that evening. I was obsessed with holding her. I just had to hold her. I had never felt such love in a place as I did at this house we were in, I might add. It was a house church my daughter wanted me to take her to. We shared a meal together every week before we'd get started. The very first night we were there, I sat her on my lap, and placed a plate of food in front of her. She wasn't eating solid food well. I started saying she's healed. You're not going to have a problem anymore, she's healed. She started eating right there, and then, and, from then on. She didn't talk either, since in foster care. We met the following week, and we all prayed for her together, as a group this time. I didn't think we needed to. I believed she was entirely healed. But, we prayed. I didn't feel the anointing this time. But, that night, after they took her home. She shocked them both, and hasn't stopped talking, or, growing since. lol. I don't want to be a "Faith Healer". It may never happen again. But, you couldn't convince me if your life depended on it, that God didn't heal her that night. Would I like to have that anointing on me again that I experienced that night? I'd be lying if I said I didn't. It was awesome. I want the Lord to use me, as He wills. I will continue to seek His face on such matters. I don't live by the experiences I've had with the Lord, but, by every Word that proceeds from Him, and His written Word. I can't deny the gifts. I won't deny the gifts. They are a part of my walk with Him. I was fearful of the gifts, especially speaking in tongues. Cause I had been taught they were from the devil. And maybe he does give counterfeits. But, the Holy Sprit is true, and does not lie. I put my trust in God. Be blessed brother. I'm new to your site. But, of the videos I've watched. And perhaps their insistence on this false practice is causing other believers to stumble or non-believers to walk away from the church. Eric Wolf if there is not someone there to translate your “language “ “daily” then you are not speaking in tongues. You have been deceived. The devil disguised himself as an angel of light. "I pray in tongues more than you all" nothing mentioned about an interpreter. @Polo Da Red Hulk I thank the Lord this isn't a "salvation issue" because if it was, many would be unsaved thinking they were saved. The passages in I Corinthians are difficult for the saved and virtually impossible for the unsaved to understand correctly. For your edification, I would point out that prophecy and knowledge were gifts operating before the last book of scripture was complete, in other words, when the canon was closed. The word "knowledge" in that case meant "word of knowledge", a gift of the Spirit passing knowledge to a believer that couldn't come from any other source than God. Also, prophecy was a gift some had in order to preach salvation before the scriptures were complete, i.e., the Bible is "that which is perfect." I don't think it fitting for Jesus Christ to be addressed as "that." Do you? No, "that which is perfect" coming was the completed Word of God in written form rather than spoken words.

Godly sorrow and the goodness of God leads to repentance, not love for Jesus. Love grows as our knowledge of Jesus grows.

Just what I was thinking too. People do not understand what they have not experienced. I was alone, at age 17 when I gave my life to Jesus. I received my prayer language at that time. I was shocked as I had no idea what just happened.

If you follow church history, there is a common thread of supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit that continues on and off for the past 2000 years. Mainline churches like the Catholics have persecuted anyone who experienced power in their faith to put down threats to a carnal and lifeless religious tradition. Cessationism is always based on 1) It has never happened here or in church history, so those gifts must be history, and 2) Dubious interpretations of obscure passages like the one where Paul predicts that tongues will cease when that which is perfect shall come. You come to cesdationism by defining the perfect as the Bible text rather than defining it as the only perfect one who has ever lived and who promised to return, Jesus Christ.

When our missionary group was in Africa and prayed over a man in tongues, he was shocked and so was the interpreter because he received a prophesy in his native tongue. I had a herniated disk in my lower back between L4 and L5(MRI pictures) and my doctor said I would need to have surgery or I would be in pain for life. But I knew my God is greater and he can heal me, with faith we prayed and my back was healed, praise the Lord our God, I could go on and on about testimonies of how wonderful and amazing our God is and the countless lives hes changed, healed, and set free. Notice, Jesus always said "your faith has healed you, now go and sin no longer". The reason people dont get healed is because they dont believe and have faith that they can or will be healed. Now dont get me wrong, I know there are false prophets and false "staged" healings that go on and it's very sad. But for those God said he has reserved a special place in the Lake of Fire. But dont allow those few to deceive you into thinking that God no longer does miracles. Our God is almighty, all powerful, all seeing, all knowing, and capable of doing all things. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and nothing is impossible for him. All glory to God, forever and ever, Amen.

I think the point the speaker was making was this: If there are so many "anointed" men of God gathered in that place, why there was no supernatural miracle in and around that place. He spoke about people getting healed by Peter's shadow... which we don't hear of these days. Why?

It most certainly can be interpreted. Speaking in tongues is to edify a church. And someone else is given the gift to interpret the meaning before the congregation. If this does not take place, then know with certainty it is not from God. Refer to the Bible verse explaining Spiritual Gifts.

I need money to rebuild my house and did an income tax form saying I made $34,700. No one would give me a loan. One day I got a real check in the mail from Wells Fargo for $3,480. I do have to repay it back at $170. a mth for 3 years. I didn't even apply for it. I really need the $30-40 thousand. So I will mail in the tax form with the amount I want them to think I make. After a few days I will apply to some private lenders. After I get the money once they see that I did a tax form, they check those out to see if you actually did send one in. Now once I fix the house, I will take in Elderly people and they will make the payments to who ever I get the money from. This does work, I did it before for $6,800. I am paying $11,000 something back on that one until next year for 4 years I have been at it. That place are theives. One Main Financial. You have to fill out a form and reverse what you sent to the IRS. Then explain why. No money coming in, they can not take money from you.

Yes and no. Yes the Spirit intercedes with groanings too deep for words. He knows your heart when you can't even express. The Spirit intercedes so you don't have to speak at all, just focus on what you're praying about. No, He does not pray through you in some other language. That would still be words, and it would be the reverse how prayer works.

Apostle Paul wrote about the sign gifts during the transition time between the fall (God concluded them in unbelief Rom. 9-11)of Israel and Paul's preaching the gospel of the Cross (grace). Some still had the gifts though they were being gradually fading away. Before Paul's death, he had lost his gift of healing and had to tell the sick to get treatment, e.g. "take a little wine." And he wrote, "I left Epaphroditus sick." It is difficult to know but I believe the "prayer language" was a real language that no one in the church understood, so they could not benefit from hearing it.

I myself have spoken in a prayer language for many years. I have chosen to not anymore. I can’t see any biblical basis for it. Hallelujah! I have heard a couple of stories like this before. God used an encounter with an unbeliever to convey a message with the gift of tongues that turned out to be a language the unbeliever understood. The unbeliever was so stunned that they couldn’t deny that Jesus is real and alive.

Any language could sound like gibberish if someone didnt understand it. So just because someone doesnt understand something it isnt wrong or nonexistent. I dont think even Einstein would be that presumptuous.
