You may know him as "Star Wars" villain Kylo Ren. But Adam Driver is now starring in two new films, as a poetry-loving bus driver in "Paterson" and a 17th century Jesuit priest in "Silence." Tracy Smith talks with the actor, who came to his vocation via an unusual route: the U.S. Marine Corps.

I am a big Adam Driver fan. How could I not be? He is from my hometown of Mishawaka. His mother was just a couple years behind me in high school. Mishawaka is very proud of Adam. Wish he could come back for a visit if he ever slows down from working. He is very dedicated to his profession.

Being an only child, I've never been able to fully understand the dynamics of siblings. That movie put a certain light on having siblings and I could finally understand what it really feels like to have a sister or brother. I love how Adam's character is a screw up but is also the one who helps the other characters grow.

I've been watching "Girls" lately and honestly, if it weren't for Adam being in it, I'd not watch it. I like two characters in the whole thing: Adam and Ray. No, it's not because Adam is Adam Driver. That character was well written: dynamic, full of energy, weird, comes off as an ass but is ultimately a good person with a big heart. Ray is how I feel around most people my age (I know he's older). I FEEL older around them because I don't identify with their lifestyles. The same applies to all the other characters in "Girls." My favorite part so far... When Adam ran to help Hannah because she was floundering in her OCD world. It wasn't OCD for me... It was a suicide attempt and my husband, then boyfriend, came to help me. He's helped me in a million ways since we met in 2009.
