Loved this q&a! Thank you for sharing about Barneys speech delay, it's so lovely to hear that he's got some words 🥰 My little boy Ralph is 19 months now and hasn't got any words yet and so this is really encouraging to see and hear yours and Barney's journey Joining the more magic club this week and I'm so excited to see everything! We're currently planning a disneyworld trip for next year (so close to getting it booked after 7 years of pursuading my other half 😅) looking forward to using all your tips!

Really glad you did a catch up Q&A today as have been missing this. There is no way you & Dave have done anything to delay Barney’s speech, just the opposite. He is so lucky to have you both as you involve him in so much that will only enhance his learning. ❤

Sophie, please don't say that psoriasis is 'not cute'....i have it over 98% of my body. Its an ongoing issue but I'm still thriving. Saying its not cute is very vain. I know it was probably just your way of talking about something your self conscious about, but its not great to hear from my perspective. Just love yourself, everyone has something and it could always be something worse

So good to see you on KZfaq again! Missed your updates and daily life videos. My third child, now almost 30 did not talk until he was 2. My grandson, also the third child is 27 months and isn’t talking yet. We are going to start speech therapy with him. Barney will be fine. You are a wonderful mother. I’m so glad to hear you are gaining confidence and feeling less “ guilty” about his speech delay. Hope to hear more about your job and looking forward to your next update. 💕

Never too young for Disney, especially if you plan to go again ❤️ besides, each time as your children age they will be into different things/rides/experiences. This year Barnstormer, next time Big Thunder. We are just back from Efteling in the Netherlands and I can't recommend it enough if you want to try somewhere new. X

My son had intense speech therapy. And the only person that could understand him was his sister .when he was frustrated he would bang his head against the wall .But on the positive side my son is now a officer in the raf and is so articulated you wouldn't belive so just be patient and don't blame yourself and soon you will be wishing he would shut up x

Hi guys ❤ I work in a nursery with 2-3 year olds. I have noticed over the past year most of the children have had a language delay, we are putting it down to covid. I do recommend putting him into a nursery for one day or a few hours a week. Would help bring him on with having other kids his age. Definitely seen this happening from working in there for over 3 years. Don’t ever feel it’s your fault as parents, we get parents saying this all the time and honestly it’s not at all! He will one day just all of a sudden start saying sentences and he will never shut up 😂❤ love you guys, so glad to see the vlogs are coming back 🫶🏼

I feel like im a debby downer saying this, but im pretty certain that psoriasis can't be cured or taken away. It's an immune system issue. My grandma has it. She's had it since her late 20s and still has it really bad. I think it can only be managed rather than completely cured. It isn't pleasant, but it's usually aggravated by stress. She has alot of creams and bath stuff that help her manage it

I came here to say the same, my Mum has it, she got it after her first pregnancy (which can be a trigger) and 40 years later it's still there. As you say, it's an autoimmune disease, but it's your immune system working overtime. My best friend has it too. Unfortunately the condition can only be managed with creams or medication, and it'll be with you for life I'm afraid Sophie, but on the upside, it doesn't effect you having anymore children, my best friend has just welcomed her first child xx

Loved this q&a! Thanks Sophie 😊 As for your health, not intending to make things worse in any way, but I would suggest Counseling for self image. Psoriasis can be controlled but not cured. The counseling did wonders to my sister who got it at age 3. That is if this is your final diagnosis. They flare up due to many factors but that's for your doctors to discuss with you. In other words, you'll be fine its just gonna take some adjustments. Keep taking good care of yourself and family.♥️

I can empathise with you about the whole sleeping thing! We had a hard time getting our youngest daughter to sleep in her own room. She ended up in with us every night until she was three & a half & then she still periodically came in. We made the decision for her to share with her older sister & luckily for all of us it worked 👍🏻 She is now a happy 15 year old who loves her sleep 💤!! Great catch up, take care xxxx

So happy to hear that Barney is now saying some words. My nephew had a speech delay and we can totally relate to how disheartening and upsetting it is when they can’t tell you what they want. It will come eventually, he is now 11 and you would never know it was ever an issue for him. We found that him being in nursery really helped bring his speech along although we all did definitely worry about him not being able to communicate with the other children but it honestly was the best thing for him and we had nothing to be anxious about x

I didn’t find out the gender of either of my babies and it’s honestly the most magical experience finding out on their birthday. 🥰Decorating the nursery won’t matter in many years to come but that magic of finding out and meeting them at their birth, you will never forget that feeling. ✨

Totally understand how hard it is with speech delay. My 5-year-old has a severe speech sound disorder, it really is heartbreaking. It's so important to get the right input immediately. We have to be kind to ourselves because we also as mums are kind of grieving what we thought we would have in our child, however saying that I would not change my child for anything but I would change the world for him ♥️♥️♥️

My youngest son, who is 28 and is a seminary student in Boston, had problems speaking at past two years, maybe more like 4 years old. My husband's family have some with speech impediments. My first two spoke very well, and quickly. We took our youngest to speech therapy for several months, and she said he no longer needed it. He wasn't a stutterer, she said. He loves to talk now and is in ministry at Church. Some do become closer to fluent as they get older, and he did.

Both my children have ASD that was undiagnosed until they were in their 20s. Looking back it was very obvious, I even flagged it with my son when he was 7. Developmental delays aren't the mums fault. So long as Barny is happy, healthy and thriving that's really all that matters. The only thing that's hard is the judgements of others

Awe Sophie my little boy(10) is called Teddy. I love his name, he’s such a lovely boy. I say go for it. I’m sure Barney will find his way ❤️ We carry guilt with us as parents, I had an undiagnosed tumour when I was pregnant resulting in having Teddy 10 days early and him being born right at the end of August. He’s always been the youngest in the class and I feel so guilty for that. ❤

Your children will turn out so very well. You and your husband love them and each other, and you are taking wonderful care of them. I have three adult children, now. One is 32 and he is a St LOUIS City policeman, and he loves his job; my 3rd child is a boy and he is in seminary in Boston, and those two have gotten along so well and loved each other very much all their lives. My second child is a girl, and she is close to both boys and has always been part of their group, in fact she was the decider for them of what to do while playing. They get along really well now, and love each other very much. My daughter's husband also gets along with the boys very well. They enjoy each other. You and your family will do very well!

I want to start off by saying that I am not a healthcare professional. But I have had a similar issue with my skin in the same area which I had been told was psoriasis and it turned out to be a fungal infection which is common for a lot of women (Bra rubbing, heat and sweat). It was very easy to treat though with a cream. May be worth having a google to see if the symptoms/ visual images fit what you are experiencing and if it is you could ask your doctor about it. ❤ hope you get everything sorted soon for your own peace of mind

Barcelona makes me feel sick! We went when I was 5-6 weeks pregnant with our 2nd and I think that was the root of the garlic aversion that lasted the whole pregnancy. We didn’t find out the sex of our 3rd baby and it was amazing. I didn’t even think about it once he was born because all I could focus on was his full head of hair (my eldest 2 were bald!)

You definitely do not have to justify the size of your home. You are both being very wise! One thing we really tried to convey to our kids as they were growing up is that you don't want to live beyond your means and your house should be there for you. Not the other way around. Meaning, you should not live for your home! Here in the US there is the mentality that everything has to be bigger and better. I think it's one of the biggest deceptions that have been taught to our young people. It's taught a sense of entitlement instead of gratefulness. Take things one step at a time and you will be rewarded for it down the road. My husband and I have been married for 37 years and I guarantee this will go a long way in giving you a happy marriage and parenthood. You are doing great! :)

We didn’t find out with our 4th. We had three boys, so we assumed we would have a 5th boy. This ended up being a twin pregnancy but unfortunately we lost one twin, we had a section and having the surprise was absolutely wonderful! The pregnancy was extra exciting as we just didn’t know… it was odd coming out of scans not knowing.. but honestly you wouldn’t regret it! Oh and we had a girl! Then since I’ve had another three boys and a girl! ❤️

Lovely to hear from you again. We have 4 children and chose not to find out the genders of any of them, just waited it out! I was rubbish at guessing their genders- like you I have a lot of sisters (5) and 1 brother. I am the youngest sibling and my sisters all had girls. Therefore I was convinced I’d have a girl. I remember being told i’d had a boy (my eldest) and just thinking that I didn’t know the slightest thing about boys, lol! My others are all girls though! As for nausea, the only things that turned my stomach was fruit squash (I was once sick after a glass and to this day haven’t drunk it again) and raw poultry. I remember shopping in Tesco and having to send my husband down the poultry aisle as I couldn’t bear to look at it! x

I guess Teddy can be a shortening for Theodore, which I know is a bit of a old fashion name these days but Theodore Brown sounds professional. My wife is 35 weeks pregnant with our first, we were told we wouldn't be able to conceive and neither of us wanted to go down the ivf route and 4 years later here we are. We have found out we are having a boy, my wife has chosen his first name and I have chosen my farthers name for his middle name. Glad you are all well, give puppy a kiss from me.

Please don’t be hard on yourself with the speech delay. I know it’s hard as I took a long time before I accepted I wasn’t to blame for our last baby being born prematurely at 29 weeks in 2020 due to me having a placenta abruption.. as a mum you always think it’s something you’ve done, but we can’t blame ourselves. You are a fantastic mummy to Barney, please be kind to yourself! You can see how happy Barney is.. every child is different, we have 8 and every single one developed differently and that’s okay, because we are all individual, it’s what makes us unique xxxxx
