High prices for everything have severely affected my plan. I'm concerned if people who went through the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am having now. The stock market is worrying me as my income has decreased, and I fear I won't have enough savings for retirement since I can't contribute as much as before.

I mean, they sell the mortgages to the federal reserve, right? How much of the deficit interest doesn't have to be paid by the government because the federal reserve loaned the money?

@@honestcharlie51 From what I understand, the government (Fannie and others) buy some of them. But I'm just trying to understand the technical side of how banks are losing money every month with these mortgages. I know it's true, but I just need to understand how.

They sold the mortgages at rates lower than the inflation rate. So they have millions of mortgages that by the time they are paid off the bank will have a sum of money that won’t be enough to make up for how much they lost due to inflation. So if I have a house worth $100 and it’s a 30 year mortgage at 3%, but the inflation rate is 10%, the money you make in the end will be worth much less than what it was when you lent it.

@@_Stay_Curious the fed funds rate is the rate at which banks receive money from the govt. before they were getting money basically for free hence why rates were so low. Now they have to pay higher interest on that money so they lend out money at higher rates so it affects us more than it does banks. I’m certainly no expert tho so there could be more involved but that’s my basic understanding of the situation. The real issue I see with banks is what they’ve invested in in the past decade is gobbledygook. Very high risk companies. A lot of tech. Look at the top tech companies 30 years ago and look at them now they changed completely. So they have a lot of risky assets and investments that will probably hurt them long term.

The best thing to save on is cash. If you go and do your grocery with an ounce of gold, there's not a grocery store that would accept gold. Same thing for fuel. You need cash, forget gold.

Gold is a savings vehicle. You can sell at any point and get cash. Cash will lose value while gold will gain value

Problem is: if Cash is losing values rapidly due to inflation, then even if you have cash, you still can't go to grocery if you are not making more money than the rate of inflation. Imagine if eggs tomorrow cost $10, then next month is $20....

0:56 Not sure why 60-year-old intelligent Peter Schiff didn't mention "x-ray fluorescent spectrometers". There are (at least) three coin shops, in my city alone, that have spectrometers ... clearly visible so any customer may watch the process of testing and have a clear view of the display screen on the machine. There might be more coin shops in my city that have them, and larger cities would have more of them, obviously.

Peter why miners lagging? Even with the gold almost $2,000 they a lot lower than it used to be a year ago compared to that price. Should I compare them to Treasury yields instead of gold price?

I suspect input costs are higher for miners and gold hasn’t moved up enough. It’s pressuring profitability and therefore valuation

Because I see it as a reason why miners wont rally despite gold price $2000. Look back on April. Gold rally up to $2000 even a little more. Junior miners , let say JNUG, run up to $51 from $28. This is a rally. US10Y was only 3.3%. Metals miners were more attractive for investors (probably). I don't see other explanation why latest rally of gold up to $2000 didn't trigger miners at all. Because US10Y over 4.6% , probably more attractive for investors? That's why Im asking Peter what to look for in this case. Gold doesn't look like much trigger anymore. Do we have to look now when Yield goes down? What in a world is wrong with metals?

silver Britannia's are one of the highest secure silver coin having a digital gold is the same as our current fractional system. It wont be one for one. it will be one for one thousand. At the moment for every ounce of of gold above ground and in a so called safe. Gold ounce to paper claim is 1 gold to 132 paper claims and silver is 151 according to usdebtclock. So you wanna hold it. get 2 safe's one as a decoy one not hidden but kind of hidden so if anyone breaks in they run off with the crappy safe with some weights in it and some loose change, maybe keep like 2 months in cash of expenses. then in the other safe thats where you splash out have it hidden tell no one and throw silver, gold cash a few euros and gbp and inside a fire proof protective cover deeds for your house and the latest print out of your retirement and savings.

after cpi gold is going up today! All well and good ,I am concerned though that there is a bias that lower yields and lower inflation numbers are responsible or enabling a reprieve in price of metals. Looks to me as the next wave will have inflation going higher and rates will rise back above 5% in 10 year, possibly very soon 10 year bond yields seem to be maxing out their downside potential super quick as they reverse and head higher what are gold longs expecting, or do we believe these low yields will hold here past Christmas? I like Peters thesis for gold going up in higher yield environment but so much bias in the media saying we gold longs need lower rates hmmm. What do you think of Peters thesis will it work if and when we see higher yields and higher inflation?

no one can explain how digital gold would account for the premiums - if Spot Gold is $2,000 to hold a one-ounce American Eagle will cost you $2150 - so which price would your "coin" run off of - spot or physical? - silver is even worse with 25% premiums.

@@JA-zh5xi that’s not the question. Gold “backed” crypto should be redeemable into physical. If the Coin is tracking under spot price and is also redeemable into physical, there will necessarily then be a spread between the two. That spread isn’t fixed, it fluctuates with supply and demand. When Gold was money and ounce had a fixed price..under the manipulation of paper gold.. the spot price paper gold and the physical metal have 2 different prices, so which does the Coin operate off of ? That’s the issue

These are very valuable info for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the knowledge embedded in it. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I've got $110k set aside to put in the market.

Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of investors raking in 6 to 7 digits in a space of months. So, I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2020, and the least I returned was $180k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.
