I'm very intrigued by this combination of feeling so remote yet so modern. I know Nuuk doesn't have a very large population, but as the capital of the country, it does have an incredible amount of infrastructure. Just looking at all the businesses, restaurants, hospital, airport expansion, there's so much going on. I think for someone who lives there and goes to work, raises their family, meets with friends, and is involved in activities, it would not get boring at all

Hi Q! I'm from Canada and until recently, people had similar ideas about our country. Like you, I got a master's degree (2 actually), in Australia at UniSA in physiotherapy. I now live in tropical Mossman, near Cairns, because I like the diverse ecology and the long summers

Before finding this you tube channel of yours, I knew very little about your country, but have always interested in learning more about it. Thanks for educating people like me. I've flown over your country before and looked down on the icebergs . The people who live there must really be tough to live in such a harsh environment. Takkus

Got to admit that I'd never thought of Greenland as being a developing nation, never really thought of it in those terms! Hoping to go there some day and see the beauty of it for real!

Many people I talk to think that Greenland is just one big block of ice and they can't understand why it's called Greenland. I explain to them that Greenland has the same ice free land mass as Norway, and at spring time the snow melts and everywhere you look it's green. They also think I am lying :)

I'm in Canada, NS to be exact, and frankly I had no idea Greenland was so modern. In the world view, not much is heard about Greenland, good or bad, so we don't often think of your amazing country.

And yes, in earlier centuries Denmark and the Church (i.e. by the foundation of Noorliit/Old Nuuk) helped a lot but it also tried to prevent Greenland's autonomy as long as possible. But times will change and in some decades, Greenland & the Antarctic could become the last habitable zones. Just by melting the huge ice sheets of Greenland & Antarctic, a lot of countries - Denmark, Great Britain & the european mainland, as well as North America - could get inundated as early as in the 2050's, and the rest of the world will be too hot to survive, let alone doing agriculture. Here in my homeland, ALL (!) forests are heavily damaged by a perennial heat & drought and "green" lands are irreversibly about to turn into deserts

I just naturally assumed it was a developed country - I had no idea that people would assume it wasn't 🤔.

The weather in Greenland is too harsh for anyone who would seriously consider moving there. Other than that, it sounds pretty good.

I am convinced Greenland is even more developed than Germany and many other European countries. While Greenlanders always build-up houses on difficult ground, always have to weather really vicious storms and can see climate change's impacts every year by the growing amount of melting ice, Germans are wondering how a 3-day rainstorm could lead to floods and how floods could destroy houses builded-up far ahead of today's "hot time" climate ...

Q you should see the life’s being suffered by the Inuit of Canada, it is a dire contrast to the wealth and safety in Greenland

I don’t know about others, but I knew from the middle school (which I attended back in the 90s) that Greenland is a developed country. How could it be different if it’s associated with Denmark? And just by looking at your streets and houses, you can tell it’s not Siberia.
