Just a tip for the top hat transfer: if you pay attention to the impression on the bottom side of the top hat - an uneven impression was left behind by the previous spring. you can see where the top hat will fall into place with the new springs on the coilovers if you line it up properly, matching the impressions to the end of the spring

LIked video before watching because you took effort into making a video about this. I first lowered my 2000 Civic in a hotel parking lot... in 2003... and didn't really know what I was doing- but I did it! (of course with crazy stories). I'm starting this today with some TEIN Super STreet coilovers on my 2014 Q50--- I can't wait to see how it tightens up the handling. This car is all over the place recently- especially when pushed hard. THe back is fairly planted because I have a sub, but those tires are going soon as well... and don't get me started about LSD.

I do have a question though. One of the rears are squeaking as the car accelerates/decelerates. I may have used too much torque on the bolt of the bottom strut mount and i feel like the bushings were a little chewed up since i had a hard time removing the strut at first. Do you think any of what I did could cause that squeaking? Also note the rear is VERY low at 25 inches from the ground to fender!! No idea how this happened as i preset them myself properly. I did make sure the center nut for the top hat/strut stud was very tight. You think that caused a tight preload thus causing a lower drop?

Great video! I just did my fronts today, and it definitely didn't go this smooth.😂😂 I think it's because I only had one side up at a time, that my swaybar endlinks were so angled, it was impossible to get them off. I ended up having to PB-blast the crap out of it, continuously jack the knuckle up and down, and lightly tap the endlink out with a mallet. Worked and didn't ruin any threads, but it had me nervous as hell! Tomorrow that I do the rears, I'll have the entire rear end up on stands, that should relieve the tension from the swaybar just like you did. Doing Toe and Camber arms too.. not sure if I should do those first, before removing the strut..

Definitely using as installation guide 😂, can’t wait to do mine if I plan on keeping the car currently on rsr lowering springs only difference I will have is for the rears since mine is awd hopefully find something out there as a guide

GREAT VIDEO BROTHER, i install embark lowering springs on 35x, i just got the 50 so i got the BC’S, I m going to tackle it this week, after that I’ am going to change the 35x to BC’s awsell.

I will say having the Tein coilovers made me a pro at removing my rear seat. Glad I do not have to do that anymore lol

Will any control linkages need to be changed? I know my brother's car had some aftermarket suspension parts and many shops in the up state NY area said they could not do alignment on the car because of thos parts and this changed my mind about doing suspension wrk on my G37s.

Quick questions are these coilovers standard or do you have to look for your Q50 model and type? For example mine is a 2016 Q50s Premium Sport 3.0 twin turbo rwd

I have a q50 sport and I have I’ve got some rims in the past but they don’t fit without spacers. What size of rims and the dimensions should I be looking for if I have the big brakes?

I know this video is a little old but I installed coilovers on my q50 at 21:40 when you line the top hat where spring stops does that matter ? I didn't check that when putting top hat on

I’ve read on Q50 forums than when upgrading suspension with coil overs, they also recommended installing adjustable control arms? I only want a flush fitment and will drive hard during canyon runs. Do you think adjustable-arms are necessary from you experience? I don’t want to drive hard in the canyon and my control arm breaks on me, what do you think?

Anybody have an issue where the oem bolt for the bottom mount of the rear strut was too short to screw in with bc's installed? I was wondering if they were supposed to be included with the bc's because mines didnt have them. Had to hit up a hardware store to get a longer one

Yo SCS I appreciate your install guide. Used it today to install my BC coilovers. Ordered them 2 months ago but BC didn’t ship them out until a few days ago 🤦‍♂️. I decided to run the rear dampener extensions through the rear seatbelt slot on each side. Turned out looking and operating very well. What did you decide to do with your dampener extensions?

Did you get any settling at all? I purchased some Megan upper control arms and rear camber rods to dial in the camber. Install this weekend I hope. Thanks for the video.

Should be a disclaimer that most of your videos involving interior/suspension work DO NOT apply to the Sport AWD models. For example the seat removal process for the rear struts is VASTLY different.

Removing the upper control arm is unnecessary for this application. The only component to remove is the steel plate holding the shock in place and the sway bar link.

The sway bar bolt is the same one connected to the strut on my car... 2014 sport. Hmmm. Not like in your video. No biggie
