Күн бұрынAfter installing bc Coilovers, dialing in the ride height and ride stiffness is an important step. Although the adjustments I had to make were quite small, it had to be done. Here is how you do it!

Great video. I would add for awd people or anyone who tracks their car that scaling and corner balancing makes a night and day difference. Especially if you're awd and are trying to tune out the low speed vibration that shows up after lowering. Just remember to throw some weight in the driver's seat to account for the weight with you in the car when scaling and adjusting.

Hey again seems like we got a lot of similar interests. You convinced me on the firehawks. I also have these coils on my e550 but the back set seems to turn the threaded column with the ring. Is there any tips on moving the back? I have both wheels off the ground so there shouldn’t be much spring pressure but maybe I need a spring compression tool on it as well?

The threaded column should turn. The spring is set with preload so you don’t want that to compress or decompress any more

@@SpeedCultureStudios in the front the threaded column turns. Maybe mine are different but in the rear the shock and the spring are separate.

Question i am trying to get coilovers but when it comes time to buy groceries will my rear tires Rub. Or are coilovers stronger and hold better weight then stock suspension

These things will lock up on you after a while and you will have to take the whole thing off to adjust it, use anti seize or coilover sleeves

If i wanted to get coil overs to only stiffen the ride quality and not rally lower it can I do that or do coil overs lower the car even at its highest height setting

You would have to do some research to see which coilovers allow you to stay close to factory height. These BCs are about a 2" drop when they are at the max height.

@@jasonkolker9444 No sir. But you could call z1 motorsports. They may be able to guide you in the right direction. There are so many options out there that there is bound to be one I do not know about.

In the pic of the side angle in the video showing the lowered result the front splitter appears to be at a strange angle on the sides of the front splitter

@@ricci169 interesting. I’ll have to play it back. I had removed the fender liner and had to remove a bolt from the splitter so thought maybe you were seeing something there, but that should have all been buttoned back up by this video. But no, it’s not falling off lol. It’s bolted up and can’t come off unless it breaks off

I put new Bc coilovers on my q50 and notice the drive side sits lower than passenger side and both sides have same measurements

Strange. Strut pocket could be bent or lower control arm could be bent.

Should have measured from the bottom top collar to the end of the thread. Measuring from the loose bottom collar, which can be accidentally moved could lead to incorrectly adjusting them. You know then bottom of the top collars are fixed and dotn accidentally move unless you turn them using the tool.

It is true that you have to be cautious in order to not bump the loose collar, but I will say that if you are careless enough to cause it to make a single 360degree turn, let alone make several turns, you shouldn't be adjusting your own coilovers lol. They are finely threaded and takes a lot to make a difference in height--you can see how many turns it takes move even 1/4".

Your coilovers will drop lower once they settle you might get some rubbing then

What do you mean move it? I had already driven the car before making the adjustments if that’s what you’re talking about. I had to get it out in the daylight to see it first and check my exit and entry of the driveway for rubbing. Definitely don’t want to install and then immediately make adjustments. That’s correct

It just looked like after you let it down off the jack you measured the height without rolling it back first so it settled

@@ricci169 I knew what you meant but I would have thought you’d give me more credit than that lol. I had put a few miles on the coils already and it had been in and out of the garage a couple of times before adjusting. And I still have to put more miles on it to really dial it in so this is quite a way from being final for sure! And I always appreciate your comments man!

Check my channel out and look how bad my q50 gaps a g37 ? Factory freak or ? Is the exhaust and drop in afe filters making that much of a difference ? Who knows but I ain't complaining 😁

I don’t think factory freak. I think the Q is probably faster from the start than the g37. The g is older and is probably making way less wheel hp than it did in its prime. The Q has a better header design and slightly different cam. It breathes better. Not really surprising you walked away from the G.
