I gave this a thumbs up because I just received this in the mail this weekend. I was really hoping to see someone demonstrate how to record music from a cassette to a mp3 file, though. Good video, nonetheless. i'm enjoying it for the same reasons you expressed LOL

The boombox itself is really amazing since the you can convert your old audio cassettes to mp3 audio. The recording quality itself is amazingly awesome. The conversion quality is amazingly great too. It's sample rate was 96KHz while the bitrate is 144KB/s and the channels are stereo when converted from cassette tapes. Big thumbs up to this product! 👍👍👍

DUDE see the ac cord plug in on the back? I got this at micro center and it had an ac cord inside the battery compartment! But even if it didn't, you can pick up a cord like that cheap it just has to be the shape of the receptacle on the back, and it's a straight 120v cord, no transformer on the wire. Also the really cool thing is you can convert those old cassettes to mp3 easily

It will run 60 to 70 hrs with one set of batteries at half volume. The hog is the cassette deck you'll probably only get half that time using it. Same with thumbdrive or sd card maybe 3/4 of 70hrs.

I just got one of these and wanted to add info I hadn't seen mentioned. The model I have has a built-in 18650 rechargeable battery. It did record my tape to USB (the USB was pre-formatted FAT32 and it created a subfolder called JL_REC with filenames starting with FILE00000.MP3). Unfortunately it is NOT stereo. I'm still getting used to it so I'm not entirely sure the directions provided are flawless. I was pushing several different buttons until I realized that the red light blinks while recording and did not stay solid. Seems odd that there are two buttons with REC (REC/MP3 PLAY and REC/DEL) - the directions say to start recording on USB by pressing the REC/DEL above the USB port - only, that location has the REC/MP3 PLAY button - hence trying several buttons. I may be a little easier than using an AUX to USB audio grabber but poorer quality. I probably won't return it because I can get some value out of it as a portable standalone player and the cost was minimal. But had I known the quality of the recordings and that it is mono I would not have spent the money. Update: the REC/DEL button was correct and light does stay solid during tape-to-USB recordings.

I would convert it to run on 2x 18650 rechargeable ion lithium batteries instead of buying rechargeable D size witch would only be 1.2v per cell x 4 =4.6v if you use 2x 18650s it would give you 7v constant voltage.

You can buy rechargeable D Cell batteries. this is a GOOD thing.

I got this to record on my blank cassette tapes but I can’t figure out how to record on them. I connect the aux cord to my digital iPad clicked record while playing the music but when I play it back nothing comes out in the recording just little background noise from my house.. I would hope they have a button to turn on the mic and record the music I’m playing but I can’t seem to figure it out

5:50 Maybe in California, 4 "D" cell batteries cost $10, but they should be cheaper in any dollar store and certainly in Canada in our Dollarama or other dollar stores, one can buy a set of two Panasonic "D" cell batteries for only $1.25 Canadian for the pair or $1.75 at most, so $2.50 to $3.50 for 4 batteries (even cheaper for sets of 4 "AA" or "AAA" batteries sold in packs of four). So, shop around to find cheaper batteries or rechargeable D batteries and a charger as stated in this video.

If your like like you have rechargeable AA batteries. Get a AA to D battery adapter. Eneloop makes a great one in white. Works like a charm. Now just carry some rechargeable AA batteries in your bag and you're gold. Word.

H E L P ! ! ! Can someone provide me some instructions as to how to PLAYBACK properly and FIND each recorded audio on the USB and/or the Memory Card. Yes, I can record onto the cassette, USB, Memory Card . . . BUT THE PROBLEM is playing back, I often have trouble finding a specific recording, say if I've recorded more than one or two or three pieces on the USB or MEMORY CARD. There's NO manual online explaining anything and answering my question on PLAYING BACK RECORDED STUFF ON THE USB and on the MEMORY CARD. I'd truly appreciate any assistance.
