I totally agree with your comments! I’ve been installing lots of both of these TV’s and the Samsung has appealed to more people due to its extreme brightness and being a well rounded package. The LG on the other hand is more for those that crave the best image quality with very pleasing motion blur and don’t have super bright rooms, or just watch TV at night. Thanks for sharing 😊

Hey ! I want to buy an LG CX and I want to clarify some questions that I have. 1. If I connect my PC via HDMI to the LG CX and a YAS 207 soundbar via Optical Audio to the LG will I be able to play bluray movies on the TV (including those with DTS sound) ? 2. I have a GTX 670 graphics card capable of only 4k@30 fps through HDMI. Will it be a problem playing 4k 24 fps movies? If so, should I play upscaled full hd movies instead? Will they look better than on full hd resolution? That is until the graphics card market is back to normal and I can afford a better graphics card

I like watching movies in the dark or with the room dimly lit 90% of the time. So I’m eyeing the C1. In my opinion qled just doesn’t cut it with the lights low. Dark scenes look flat and loose depth. I do wish the C1 was evenly thick from top to bottom for wall mounting. I personally don’t get the big bump out at the back/bottom design but I guess 65% of the tv looks impressive. Overall still sits 2-3 inches of the wall. Would just prefer a tv that’s a little thicker but even that replicates the framed art look, even if it ends up being a little over an inch thick all over (And the Samsung Frame doesn’t preform well enough in the dark).Like the q90t does or the much more expensive LG G1 or GX. I might even cut into my wall to partially counter sink the C1...or go for the G1 when price is better. G1 will still cost more than I’d like to spend on a TV.

I got last year's LG CX for about $300 cheaper than the LG C1 is going for now, and based on what I've read, I'd probably see if I could get last year's CX, even with the newer gaming additions. I specifically got the CX to pair with my Xbox Series X, and I'd be stunned if the C1 was THAT much better for the price hike.

I know this is old but if you still have a CX; I now have a C2 and CX and I can tell you with no doubt that the difference is very minimal. Sure the C2 is a little brighter but they’d need to be side by side to notice anything major. Regarding gaming it’s more the TV making it easier to navigate and know what you’re using than having more features.

We bought the 65" LG OLED last night at Costco, along with a Klipsch 5.1.4 surround sound that unfortunately needs a receiver to work. When we were in the store this Samsung was really impressive, especially the brightness. We have yet to hook up the new TV. In spite of watching at least 10 of your videos, I missed this one and was glad to find it. I hope I really like the LG and don't miss the brightness. We decided to splurge since there are so many months of the year spent indoors during the Winter months in Minnesota. We usually spend our money on cars. We have way too many. It was time to go all out (for us) on what we got. I'm really excited to experience all of what we bought. For once, something I dont have to build before I drive! Most mobile devices use OLED for the displays. No burn in. I have had plasma tvs (Pioneer Kuro) and it was a non-issue that was only prominent in unrealistic tests with extremely static environments (like watching CNN non stop). I would be surprised if people get burn in for normal use. I can vouch for OLED, my Sony A1 from 2017 is still pretty much perfect.

@donward8729
@donward8729 2 жыл бұрын
OLEDs are the best as far as the technical aspects go , but fail in a normal home setting unless in a darker room . This Samsung beats all that with a brighter screen and can be adjusted. In a show room atmosphere you have to ask to set the tv on normal settings you'd have at home. Dark rooms like basement suites etc, the OLED work. The Neo QLEDs work in both. The Samsung can be set to your personal liking in contrast blacks etc. I've been tossed back and forth and have a Sony OLED and a Samsung in my home to compare. Company I'm purchasing with is very helpful in that I can return both or one with in 30 days. Warranties are very important as well. The best way to answer you personal questions is to view your choice (s) in your own home or environment. There's new models coming out every year but you don't want to buy new expensive tv every year. I've gone crazy reading reviews for weeks now.

Great review - great channel! I want to like the LG OLEDs, but I've had three LG CX's since April 2021 and they all came with a very ugly dirty screen effect, almost "grid"-like in every somewhat bright scene. It might be OK when watching Tv and shows, but for gaming and a lot of panning around with the camera it's really bad. I'm in the process of trying to send back my third LG CX now, but I'm not sure if dare to try ordering a C1 or if I should just go for the QLED. The size of my "gaming room" only allows screen sizes up to 50 inches in order for a pleasant view over time.

Burn in hasn't really been a big issue for a while. The TV has various methods to prevent it. If you're leaving your TV on a network all day with a logo in the same position, or wanting to leave something static on the screen in another context, maybe consider this issue. But for most people it just isn't a real concern.
@MrBadlandabad
@MrBadlandabad Жыл бұрын
@@d_dave7200 I play a good deal of games. The HUD can be an issue and so can the pause menus. But if there is stuff to prevent that like auto-screensaver or something than it shouldn’t be a problem.
@d_dave7200
@d_dave7200 Жыл бұрын
@@MrBadlandabad If the picture is completely static like when paused it shouldn't be a problem because the TV will go to a screensaver. There are also dimming features in the TVs menus and such. The main issue with burn in is where there is a static part of the image, but something in the picture is still moving to prevent the screensaver activating. That said, it has to be on that screen for hours, and there are also additional features the TV has to reduce the chance of a problem occurring, like screen shift, or in the newer TVs a logo luminance reduction feature. Google the issue to find a page LG has talking about those features. The other thing I'll say is that burn in is more likely to be a problem at maximum brightness. So if you're someone who color calibrates their TV for accurate colors, it will be less of a problem too since a fully calibrated TV typically sacrifices some brightness in exchange for accuracy. With the features LG has employed to deal with it, the chance of burn-in happening (especially permanent burn-in) is very small and requires unusual usage.

Good point! I have a Panasonic plasma and the picture is incredible even in today's standards but it has burn in from the hud in need for speed or many hours of assassin's creed. I'm still undecided on which TV to upgrade to. It's clearly the LG, but I'd sacrifice performance a little for no burn in. For the record, image retention prevention was enabled on my Panasonic and I still got it.

Thanks for the great review! I ended up going with the C1 for my home theater (no windows in the room so DARK) and I am absolutely in love. I was completely on the fence about which to go with, what ultimately made me go with the C1 was... Dolby Vision. I prefer Dolby Vision over HDR 10 and Samsung's hard stance on not licensing Dolby Vision was enough for me to make the move. If it wasn't for that, then the decision would had been that much harder.

Looking for some help! So I’ve got a real predicament here and could use some help! It’s been fun geeking out but it’s time to make a decision. 85” Samsung QN900A (currently on sale for $5.5K!) v.s. 85”/83” leading 4K OLEDs. Were trying to build a living room cinema. It won’t be closed off like a movie theater but definitely focused on the cinematic experience. Here’s what we’re working with: - Flush wall mounting - Wall size and seating distance is perfect for 85” - Budget is around $5K - Room doesn’t get too bright, there is a window near the wall but is south facing so the sun doesn’t shine directly through it - We will mainly be streaming, getting a sound bar, and surround sound I know typically right now it’s not worth paying the $9K for an 8K tv but the QN900A is about half price which now puts it on the same financial playing field as some top OLEDs like X95J or LG C1. What are your thoughts, recommendations, advice? Thank you for all your KZfaq content, it really is great and extremely helpful!

So now I'm waiting on a curtesy in home solution by LG which is gonna take 3-5 business days. That's a real bummer considering I paid $1769 for it smh.

I have an older Samsung flagship MU7000 and it has always been stellar for me and I love the small streamlined smart remote with no unnecessary buttons that it has and the new QN90A has an even slimmer smart remote which I'm excited for. Upgrading because I need that 120hz so I'd definitely choose the Samsung. My current TV I can adjust the backlight (or all settings like contrast) simply by saying backlight zero or backlight 20 into the smart remote which makes changing from day to night time viewing super super easy and I'm sure the QN90A can also do that too. My best advice is the LG OLED can suffer from burn in if you leave it on the same image say a game home screen but the Samsung QLED doesn't get burn in, an important factor to consider. All in all im getting the Samsung because mine has performed perfectly and been a trusty TV for many years through many moves to different houses and nothing ever went wrong with my Samsung.
