Josh says at the end they've "never played that before". This must be the turning point then.

Troy and Joey make a substantial difference to this band. Even Fertita to be honest. Troy is immense, so solid live. Love how they've evolved. Best band on the planet by some distance.

Gene Trautmann is a great drummer, Joe Castillo is too, but you can't dis Genes perfirmances, seen them both live. Marginal differences.

Mexicola at big day out 2001 (i think its 2001...) and How to handle a rope from Over the Years and Through the Woods are the most awesome drum performances I've seen in Queens of the stone age, and both were troutman. However, Grohl is also a really great drummer and I think Joey shines more and more for every album.
@TheRebelLeonRoy15 жыл бұрын
The drummer is Gene Trautmann. He played on the Rated R album. So this was the first time they played Go With The Flow?

@inaians There is no such thing as a "golden" age of Queens' there are just different phases, Queens' is like an epic voyage, it encompasses long periods of time, regardless of what part of the story you're on you don't want it to end.

The only beauty to this song is indeed its lyrics. But you can also tell how great they matured. Their new band is way beyond this. But the mastermind was and is Homme and his lyrics. Amazing lyricist. So much so you can bypass his attitude and persona.
@NicholasAFigueroa15 жыл бұрын
Yea but speed could be too much sometimes, like when he plays song for the dead, he goes too fast and for me it changes the song completely. don't get me wrong, i love joey but he's not queens' best drummer. I believe Gene Trautmann was their greatest drummer. Listen to the song Rickshaw on Desert Sessions Vol. 5 &6 then you'll know why.
