QUADRUPLE Reaction! [BAND-MAID- Awkward] (Studio/Live/Band-Maiko/some other song xD/Acoustic) 1/2

Hey everyone! If you are new here, I love japanese rock/metal music and already know and love a lot of amazing bands (Babymetal being my absolute favourite), but I never listened to Band-Maid before starting this reaction channel and all I know by them so far is their album Conqueror. It started out really slow, but with every song (and every relisten) I already grew to like this Band more and more.
I've noticed with Band-Maid A LOT, that you have to listen to their songs multiple times to really grasp what is going on, so even if my initial reaction isn't super impressed, that might very likely change when listening again (and again and again... ;D)
Now we are continiuing this awesome journey by listening to their album 'Just Bring It' from start to finish!
Like last time I'll provide some additional info on how much I've listened to these songs on my phone, so you'll be able to tell which ones became my favourites.

Beautiful song. You won't ever see Band-Maiko playing the instruments - the traditional instruments were programmed by Kanami.

The Live and Maiko versions of Awkward are my favorites, and the acoustic live was Forward I believe.

Awkward in the acoustic set is around the 29 minute mark. Goes after "Manners' and the members are Saiki, Kanami and MISA.

the acoustic bit is easy to recognize because they repeat "Mae e" which is "Forward" in japanese

Saiki's vocals on Akasimahen are so beautiful, and the sigh....., all versions are impressive vocally though.

Awkward live is one of my personal top 15 songs by the band. When I first heard it, I mainly thought how weirdly creative and interesting it was. But it's remained a fav of mine: the groove, the creative songwriting, the weirdness of it all - it just clicks with me.

I'm lead to believe that this kind of composition is known as Dynamic Arrangement- each section increasing in intensity. A fantastic song by Kanami and a really good vocal work out for Saiki. The Studio Coast recording is one of their best recorded concerts- bonus DVD with World Domination album. Glad you recognised the genius of this band- some just don't but that's fine. To quote a masive fan- "F'n Band-Maid, F'n band- Maid" as a real complement. For the acoustic concert there were various combinations of band members.

I love the solos too. Probably my favourite song for Kanami solos out of the ones you've reacted to (or maybe Puzzle). The switch in mood works perfectly. Maybe you already know them, but if you're interested in seeing traditional Japanese instruments played in a rock context, I'd recommend Wagakki Band. They have players of the shamisen, koto, bamboo flute, and taiko as permanent band-members. Their performance of Homura and Akatsuki no Ito (same video) is probably my favourite.

Good try, I don't love you forever - yet! ❤My current all time favourite track by our Maids - all versions. However, Saiki's sigh in Akasimahen kill me every time! Band-Maiko have never played live. They physically can't. It would be impossible for Akane to play drums in a Kimono. For example during the making of the Band-Maiko MV for Gion-Cho Kanami dropped her pick. A member of staff had to retrieve it and give it to her. Kanami couldn't bend down. Band-Maid have played some Band-Maiko songs live, but only in Kyoto (where Maiko come from). There are two music video's for Band-Maiko. 'Secret Maiko Lips' (a cover of Band-Maid's 'Secret My Lips) - worth reacting to together - do Band-Maid first though for full effect. MISA howling in 'Secret Maiko lips' is glorious! Second MV is 'Gion-Cho' an original Band-Maiko song that is utterly beautiful!

Looks like Europe is missing out again. The Ladies announced that they are touring the US again next year....so it looks like no European tour for at least another year....Somewhat annoyed as it was those in Europe and South America that saved them. Yet they seem obsessed with the US. Lucky I got to see them yesterday otherwise I may never get the chance at this rate.(US not somewhere I'm keen on going).

If you decide to do a rect to Waggaki Band you will see the instruments - ok, it is another band, but they mix Japanese instruments to normal rock instruments.
