Welcome to the Gemba video series of the Asian Productivity Organization. In Japanese, “gemba” literally means “actual place” but generally refers to a specific site where work is carried out. These videos show good practices at production sites in Japan. The theme of this video is “Quality Control of Fresh Produce.” It presents quality maintenance technologies for fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables throughout the supply chain from farm to fork. These technologies enable the provision of high-quality food to consumers, with increased profits for producers and others involved in storage, transportation, etc.
