Followed your directions to the "t". After installing firmware (and I tried 3x different stock versions, newest and older, for both the K5 and K5(8) model) EVERY one makes the radio automatically boot into a "LOCK" screen... and not knowing the code/pin I'm locked out of the radio. Connecting the radio to Chirp and there's NO setting to turn off the password either... (even in developer mode... closest is it gives me hex values for some sort of code --no place to change or turn off the code-- and I have no clue what to do with this HEX values either...). Any idea for a fix?

Is it possible to update firmware on uvk6 with a MacBook? I’ve tried using web based install on uvmod but doesn’t work and I don’t have a pc.

hello. im hoping you can help me. i went to the website for the uv-k5 software, the 200 mb download for the complete software has been swithed out by the company for a newer different version. do you by any chance have the original set of 200 mb files. im not sure the newer small set of software files can flash modded files now. thanks so much . chris.

Hi followed the instructions to the point of locating the Firmware into the window. but doesnt let me proceed. Note I have the update button in english where yours is chinese.... any ideas why update greyed out?

The programing app PSCPS.exe 750kb 4/4/2023 contained in UV-K5 Programming Software does not look like what you have on the video. In that app can't find the firmware update button.

These a firmware hack that makes the radio recieve from 18 to 1300Mhz. But for some strange reason the radio is able to transmit on the airband after installing it. But as long as you don't do that it's okay.

You can't do ANY of that without FIRST installing a driver for the USB, and NO ONE is showing how to do that, and all the instructions are in CHINESE. I'm sending this POS back.
