YES, especially here in Amish country. SO many people hit broadside deer and the deer doesn't go down. I find occasional deer lying dead on my property with horrible gut shots and nasty smells from bad shots. More people need to 1: practice and 2: learn anatomy.

On Ranch Fairy advice / watching all vids, switched this year from 408gr flappers (Grimm Reapers) to 611gr fixed. As luck would have it #1 target buck quartering in. I took confidence shooting well forward that my adult arrow would make it through shoulder and reach lungs. Bingo. Not only made it to lungs but passed through like a laser. Thanks a ton RF!!!

Thanks for great content! I switched over to a 635 grain arrow this season. Shot 3 deer and they never left my eyesight!!!! One was slight quartering in shot and it destroyed everything. Broke every bone it hit and kept right on going through her!!!! Never going back to a light set up ever again!!!!

Been looking forward to this wrap up. Yep, that was me, shooting behind the shoulder. And I knew how the diaphragm is shaped🥴 I thank God for you just throwing the truth out there, unapologetically, because I would rather take rebuke, reproof or even mocking to get the point across, than to take offense and get butthurt. You've got the best content I've seen on basics of bow hunting. Hopefully your work will spread everywhere a stick and string is wielded. With the quality of content that you put out, it really is disgusting that you can't monetize. Especially when we see hunters constantly over-monetizing their kills, after showing their entire life before the kill so they cab get 16 ads in a 40-60 minute video.. haha. Please keep mentioning that you're not monetized, so newbies know and we can support your work.

Insert and 125 grain broadhead somewhere around 14 to 15 % foc I am wanting to go higher foc but not sure if it would be practical for hunting whitetail deer guess my question is what's your honest opinion? After watching this 1 year later it still holds water. Hunters that have switched over to the adult theme & have matching field points can try this. After confirming your points & heads & your bow tune r in sync get yourself a 3D target. Get up in a 🌳, safely & shoot that target. Shoot @ different distances, angles & heights in the 🌳. Being able to see your point protruding out the other side trains the brain & after a few summer months u will be more confident going into the season.

Shot my best buck to date this year at 30 yds. Quartering to me and for the first time shot in front of the shoulder. He didn't make it 40 yds and piled up. Spreading the word about the Ranch Fairy to all my hunting buddies. Shoot Adult Arrows!
@Kurtdog63
@Kurtdog63 3 жыл бұрын
It seems like for years, almost every time I aimed "behind the shoulder" the arrow many times hit EVEN FURTHER BACK than I was aiming. The buck I shot in October this year, more forward, perfect broadside shot directly OVER TOP the leg, instead of back behind it, ran about 30 yards, and stopped, looking around for several seconds. I think he would have fell over right there, but he winded me and took off. Still fell within sight. 630 grains went thru him like butter and buried in the ground. The confidence of shooting a heavier arrow set up with a carbon steel monolithic broadhead, goes thru the roof, and quartering in shots no longer seem like a big deal. 200 to 250 grains up front seems to be magical on improving arrow flight as well.

Primarily a rifle hunter, I bought a .270 since it had more then enough penetration to drive through a mule deer (150 GN partition). For elk I upgraded to the 300 Win Mag 200 grain Accubond for the same purpose. Coming to Archery I am very surprised with the fascination for light arrow weights. The principle is the same to range and dial the animal, but the terminal ballistics is vital to the successful completion of archery and rifle hunting. Thanks for the great info. My arrows for the ranch fairy test kit will be dried tomorrow. I am stoked to determine my hunting weight out of my Mathews V3.

Ok, so in the process of already building new arrows for next season I have come to a question that I think you can help me with. Where I live the ground is very hard and rocky, in anticipation of these arrows blowing thru the deer and burying in the ground, I know from experience around here that breaks or at least bends the broadhead. So my question is, will "one piece of steel broadheads" handle that and still spin true or should I just shoot something like a magnus black hornet where it's cheaper to replace?
