I have a theory that Armand must've forced Louis to forget about *spoiler* 's death which was why his memories aren't too reliable. I mean, he's keeping an eye on Louis, making sure he won't go bat-shit crazy when he remembers

I season one Daniel makes a comment about Louis and Lestate being a couple of old married queens? Something like that. I get a similar energy from him and armand here and I adore it. I love how the show embrasses that while vampires dont physically age they do get older and mature but it doesnt actually give into the ageist stereotypes. Most of the older folks I know I can see a bit of in the vampires and i love that.

As a VC reader, this show never stops surpassing my expectations and I'm so in love with it. I must be biased but Armand's my favorite character not only in the books but in general, so I can't praise enough what they're doing with him, both Assad and the direction crew, and I love to see other people's (Daniel included) reactions to him

In both the past and the present this is possibly the most Not Doing Well Louis has ever looked, and it’s only going to get worse from here. I am very excited to get into this type of unreliable storytelling, because it can be SO effective when used for horror. I’ve definitely mention this before but the first episode of TMA podcast I remember genuinely scaring me was Lost Johns’ Cave, because of a moment in the middle where the inflection given to the statement-giver’s voice (a slightly too-heavy insistence when saying she loved her now dead sister) made me doubt the entirety of the story she had given, which was somehow scarier than what was actually happening in the statement. Because why would she lie? How much was a lie? Does she know she’s lying? If she does why give the statement in the first place? That part in the episode where Louis is so focused in on what and when Emilia said what she said, a fairly innocuous detail that can easily go misremembered in normal circumstances, but he’s so distressed by it and why does Armand have his reaction to Louis remembering just this? That’s what really gets me going, when the story can stop at any moment to say in fear “That’s not what happened.” Also with that leaning on the fact that we are being told a story with the opening text of “The part of Claudia will now be played by Delainey Hayles” like a playbill, really dialed me in to the sounds of the orchestra setting up in the opening. Daniel is fighting for his life with all and only the snark at his disposal, but it is nice that he will extend compassion when he can tell Louis is sharing something really distressing and vulnerable with him.
