Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire, or simply Interview with the Vampire, is an American gothic horror television series created by Rolin Jones for AMC, based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Anne Rice. The series follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) who recounts his life with his maker Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and teenage vampire Claudia (Bailey Bass and Delainey Hayles) to veteran journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian), accompanied by ancient vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). The series embraces the homosexual elements of Rice's work, which are only insinuated in the 1994 film adaptation of the novel. It is the first television series in Rice's Immortal Universe.
Interview with the Vampire received a series order in June 2021, after AMC Networks had purchased the rights to intellectual property encompassing 18 of Rice's novels, primarily The Vampire Chronicles, in 2020. The series was renewed for an eight-episode second season in September 2022, ahead of the premiere of its first season on October 2, 2022.
The first season received critical acclaim, with praise going towards the writing, tone, costumes, soundtrack, production values, performances (particularly those of Anderson and Reid), and chemistry between the two actors.
Adapted from Anne Rice's 1976 gothic horror novel Interview with the Vampire, the series centers on the life story of vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy. An affluent black man in 1910s New Orleans, Louis is romanced and later made a vampire by the charismatic Lestat de Lioncourt. But the price of immortality is steep, and the relationship between Louis and Lestat is further complicated by the introduction of Lestat's newest fledgling, the teenage vampire Claudia.

Daciana threw herself into the fire because she was probably just tired of existing. That's what happens to many of the older vampires. They get tired of living and go mad and destroy themselves, usually by throwing themselves in a fire like Lestats maker Magnus. Sometimes they grow despondent and just dig a hole for themselves and go into a state of hibernation for a century or two.

I was quite hesitant about them replacing the actress for Claudia. I loved Bailey's performance so much, but I really, really enjoy Delainey's Claudia. In S1, Claudia was still very young, and Bailey portraited that youthfulness perfectly. This new version of Claudia is traumatized and more mature, and I think Delainey is already doing a great job with that.

Bailey had to be replaced because she is under contract with James Cameron for the Avatar films. Delainey does an impressive job as new Claudia.

We're baack! Really love your reactions! I am already loving Delainey's portrayal of Claudia this season! And her chemistry and dynamic with Jacob is outstanding. Very dark and heavy episode which highlights how horrifying this season would be! (Which am very excited about). The things DreamStat says to Louis is what Louis thinks. He feels so guilty and is in mourning that he is sure that if Lestat was alive he would want to kill him, and is scared of being happy again.. it's very messed up. Armand and Daniel's back and forth sass was very amusing and hilarious 😂♥️

The MF, Claudia was referring to Bruce, the one that attacked her in season 1. That was a Revenant...from the dead, zombie vampires if you will. Louis and Armand are absolutely beautiful together ❤ In this part of the book Lestat is not in the story until the end and very briefly. What we are seeing is fully done because Sam Reid is under contract and too gifted as Lestat to not be in the show. Delainey is fantastic as Claudia, tied with Kirsten Dunst for my favorite.🎉🎉🎉

Yesss I love your reactions to this show. They recast Claudia because the original actress is too busy in the new avatar movies 😭 It’s a shame but I really love the new actress so far. Her and Jacob’s (louis) chemistry is perfect. Looking at how Louis reacted to Claudia dreaming, I think he really wants to remember. I just want to know why armand seems against that 😭 What are you hiding sir??
