I am once again back bringing you all the latest in AR & VR News. First of all, we will begin this video with news on the new Quest v65 update, which is already rolling out. A few interesting things like aeroplane/travel mode, AR passcode, AI-generated skybox, new UI and more have been found inside the code of this update and we will talk about that here. We will also talk about the new Meta Quest browser update as well as the massive discount happening right now on all Quest 2 accessories. We also have news on a new synth riders update with new music as well as Emulators on the Vision Pro and being able to check out your own spatial video on the Vision Pro during your demo in the store! Hi, my name is Iker. Just for clarification, I made the UI redesign shown in the video at 3:13; it's on my Behance profile. It was my final project for a UX/UI course I was taking. The task was to identify a problem on a website, app, or platform of our choosing, propose a solution, and then create a case study to showcase it on Behance, Dribbble, etc. The entire process took 2 weeks, involving research, surveys, ideation, sketches, mockups, and the case study. Mysticle, I appreciate your comments on the design; you made very good points! Especially regarding the look of the icons. As I mentioned previously, the entire process took just 2 weeks. Redesigning the icons would have taken additional time and was beyond the scope of the project. However, I agree with you completely. As a UX/UI designer, feedback is always welcome and helps us understand users' needs and goals.

Seriously hope they fixed the Android lockdown. Bonelab, Blade & Socery, among other games, thrive off modding and if it’s not fixed soon. Those games risk of stagnation.

Can I just say? I have not been this excited for each update for software since Apple's prime with Steve Jobs. Every iOS public test update was exciting back then, but this carries on that similar momentum, it's really cool to see Meta getting experimental and continuing to add features

I’ve never owned a game console, or games for it, that have received the kind of regular updates you get with a Quest. There’s constant work being done on the games and the OS.

Yeah quest 2 was getting updates pretty much every month and then it slowed when the Quest 3 launched, but it looks like that momentum is picking back up again. I'm still wondering when augments is getting here, hopefully before v100

I was probably the most against Facebook acquiring Oculus that anyone could have been. I bought a Quest 3. The most expensive model. Been very happy. 🤷‍♂️

Daburuwirshushust GIM! 😄 I can't wait for the travel mode, trying to watch something in VR on a train was painful! I'm not sure what to think about the added gradient on the buttons with the new UI. The transparency seems harmful to me, but... what I'm interested in is what we can do with the new UI, hopefully things are more modular, more configurable and make more sense in general. Also, speaking of UI... app library changed a few months ago, and it would look like you could sort apps into groups, but they've yet to do anything with it! So I'm hoping that comes soon, too. Thanks for the video Mysticle, it is fire as usual. 🔥

3:18, as a skeuomorphism lover, I do like a good mix between skeuomorphism and minimalism. Or should I say that I prefer fruitiger aero? Either way it's great. (Imagine if minimalism was some conspiracy with a lot of companies and graphic designers to do less effort? lol. Of course, there is still effort, but if you can litterally make it in paint (iOS 7) and people complain then it says something. /j Still though, modern design is so bland and boring nowadays. I want to feel excited or refreshed, not stare at flat blocks lol. Blurred is fine, it's nice when done right.)

I just realised that's inevitable in near future. The complete, AI generated from single prompt, full 3D scenes you can explore without end. If Meta would want that, it's already technically achievable. And i know few people who would probably buy the Quest 3 to have that in their home.

Hopefully V65 continues to improve Q3 WiFi stability. Some said it was fixed with V64, but myself and tons of others are still experiencing it, Meta support even stated as of 4/25/24 that they are still working on a fix. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

With the v64 or v65, if I run the roomscan, no furniture is detected, I have to add it manually at the end of scan... I don't know what's wrong ? does it work for you ? or there's special technic do make it append ????

@@OverbiteGames mine was semi okay until I walked around, it was like tripping on acid, made me all dizzy. I filed a report, the optimized controller and hand control was working real well but it was to warbley to stand. I hope they fix this fast, I’m in the middle of an nfl season and I think this is the year!

3:50 that already *is* glass, tinted glass that is the term for the aesthetic you're probably looking for from visionOS is "frosted glass" where the glass itself is blurry imo tinted glass on quest is already good enough for me, it's very demanding for the GPU to blur anything behind it as good as visionOS's

What I want to know is where are they getting that so called passthrough video from due to that is no way the quality that I am getting in a very well lit room, and I am now running v64. Sure its better than what it was on v63 and earlier versions, but they shouldn't show stuff that the headset cannot do.

seriously, if they have it available in English then release it in english everywhere. It's pretty much the universal language! Then work on the other languages. Sure accents may be an issue, but it can be fixed with updates, plus it's in like beta or something.

Voice commands are terrible. It only works for rebooting the headset and checking the time. It's definitely no Siri or Alexa, but give it time.

Turned my Q3 on today, and it says it has the v65 update, but not noticing anything different than before. Nothing new in the UI, hand and control tracking still not working. Not sure what is suppose to be changed unless it is all airplane mode and behind the scenes stuff?

I would hope that Meta wouldn't make the same mistake that Microsoft did with Window Aero in the release of Vista. Making the UI so taxing and power hungry. I'm sure they have thought it out, but you also would have thought Microsoft wouldn't have made that mistake either....

You havent used an apple vision, but thats okay. Its a super under baked system so far. As a media consumption device its top notch, but thats pretty much as far as it goes at this point. Apples vision being a completley different system in software hit the reset button and it needs time for developers to figure it out. It likely the 3rd generation is when it gets really worthwhile

v65: still some bugs not fixed, even worse: no ambient sounds in my home environments as of v62 (PTC) remains in my pro and now sound issues in horizon worlds and tetris effect as of v65. Stepping in PTC was the worst idea. I don't have those in Q2 so it is problably Pro related.

@@TheMysticle They're on r/hardwareswap usually at a decent discount -$300-600 off MSRP and there hasn't been much interest. US eBay auction history also shows they aren't fetching over retail. I think it would be easy for you to get your hands on one.

hopefully they fix the passthrough again. it's now way too dark and yellow! like a dim cave ...only ok for reading smartphones but bad for everything else 😢
