Ugh, here from TikTok again. It's despicable behavior, frankly, if a husband doesn't just assume he will be watching the kids while his wife is at URGENT CARE. Good grief, I wouldn't even have to hint at it or be sarcastic. There is clearly some very toxic, narcissistic behavior on Nate's part and the fact that your two sit down to do marriage advice videos is appalling. My husband (of 19 years) and I are also conservative Christians, and we are far from perfect and marriage is very hard, but if I were headed to urgent care for any reason he'd drop everything to help me, no questions asked. It's sad to me that Sutton tolerates this gross behavior from her husband, and furthermore that you two think this kind of content sets a good example. What's worse, TikTokers looking to hate on Christianity are using Nate's toxicity as examples of why Christianity is bad. Gah. Stop giving them perfect content! 🤦🏼‍♀️

So you have to read his mind when it comes to dinner, but he can’t read yours when it comes to his kids? Grow up bro. Be better to your wife. You found an amazing woman. Treat her accordingly. And Sutton don’t let him treat you that way. He needs to watch the kids when you go do stuff. ESP going to urgent care. And the face he made when you were talking about it is terrifying. And why do I see her apologizing more or taking responsibility more?

But when he is home if I need to go do something or run errands he automatically offers to watch the kids at home. We have 4 kids. There is no excuse for him not to watch his own fuckin children! This is why putting women in a subservient echo chamber is so abusive to them. She thinks it’s her fault he didn’t watch the kids while she went to urgent care. No sweetie, if he cared about your well being even in the slightest he would have the care and compassion to think of someone’s needs besides his own. It shouldn’t have even been a discussion or a question. It should be a given because expecting the opposite is ludicrous. Yea take my two children to a waiting room chock full of sick ppl when they’re of the age they lick everything and can’t sit still. It’s the better option then me (their father) watching them at home. Do you see how completely stupid that is? I really hope you can find a way out someday and someone who treats you and cares for you the way a husband should treat and care for his wife.

The low key satisfaction in Nate’s eyes when Sutton said yes to the muscle mass question 😂 From my own perspective, I look for guys that balance out certain aspects of my personality and complement others. I’m quite introverted so I feel like I need someone to get me out of my shell to balance that, but then I also love deep intellectual conversations so I look for someone that can complement that aspect. There’s never a one size fits all personality and the same way there’s no one size fits all body type. We’re all created unique by God’s beautiful design so guys, don’t ever be discouraged! You all have wonderful personality traits that God gave you for a reason! Use it for His glory ❤️ One thing that I personally find super attractive in a guy is when he is humbly but confidently living out his faith rooted in love… when you can tell a guy loves Jesus first… YES 🙌🏼

No I think he definitely should have used his man brain to not be so obtuse and make you take the kids to a doctors appointment. Yes communication is good, but seriously. And how many videos I’ve watched and is lack of willingness to apologize to you as a Christian man is so mind blowing. PRIDE! What I find most attractive about my husband is that when I point something out, and it’s hurt me, even if he doesn’t agree he can say “I’m sorry that hurt you, that was never my intention and I’ll try and do better and find a different way” this man… I can’t. You should pray on that Nate. Humble yourself and serve your wife like she does for you. I can’t find the air port/not eating video on here right now or the working out after the baby video But look back please. Pray and reflect. Take yourself down a peg. Yes I get she didn’t “think” that as a grown man she would have to think about your needs without you actually communicating them to you, but you are also responsible for your self and your needs. Or the fact that doesn’t matter what you meant about the work out comments. You still hurt her feeling. Of course she’s still going to love you and move on, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take responsibility or that that’s such a sensitive time in a woman’s life and just saying “you know I love you no matter what you look like and God gave me you. I love you and I’m so sorry I made you feel that way, I never wanted to do that” humble yourself. What would Jesus do. We are all wrong doers. We all should be apologizing for hurting others intentional or not. Your wife is more precious that rubies. Love her as Christ loved the church. Feel sorry for hurting her. Think of her. God first, then her, then children, self LAST! You have a huge following. Be better buddy. Show the True Christ. Not this toxic man Christian image that’s giving anti Christians room to talk about on tiktok. We don’t need any more ammo to load into their weapons.

This man is so narcissistic. I cannot believe there are so many positive comments on this video. She had to go to urgent care and he couldn't pick up on the fact that he should watch their children??? And now when they are recounting this, he once again is acting like she is in the wrong?!? "Stick to reality". The reality is that you are a terrible husband and not a good Christian. This was a super fun video! Several of the things you guys talked about were exactly what I found so amazing about my husband. At the end of our first phone call (we met online) he asked if he could pray over us and it blew my socks off! He wears his heart on his sleeve and is never shy about saying how he feels. And the most important character trait was I wanted someone who loved God more than he loved me. I knew if he loved God more than me, he would resect and love me, and always follow Christ's lead in our lives. I knew there would be an incredible amount of safety in that. And now we're celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary next month!

If you (husband) were considering the "reality" of the situation, you would've been taking on your *responsibility as a parent* to take care of you kids while she went to the hospital. Why? Why would you not immediately want to take that on so she didn't have to watch the kids in the waiting room of the hospital while simultaneously dealing with a health issue???

The fact that that movie showed more than needed to and that was just from watching the trailer put me off the entire thing and you confirmed it. It should not matter how nice the story line is, either make a Christian movie that's a safe space to minister to people or don't bother at all. Putting all that in there would cause believers to stumble or give them an excuse to think that "it's a Christian movie so it's ok".

The book of Hosea is not about a girl sold into sex slavery and rescued out of it but a picture for Israel to see their wilful, repeated, unrepentant rebellion against Him. This movie misses the entire point of what God is saying in this book.

Marietta Van Middelkoop From my understanding neither the movie nor the book was meant to copy the book of Hosea, it’s very clearly said that it’s LOSELY based on the story of the couple in it, they literally say it inspired this story so you shouldn’t be going into it expecting that exact same theme or accuracy considering that’s not what the authors intent ever was.

Isn't Redeeming love like soft porn though? Don't you guys think it is being used to slowly incorporate some worldliness and lukewarmness to Christianity? I 100% agree on being VERY careful about this title in particular along with some of the author’s other books. It is def on the side of soft porn (didn’t see the movie) and I would argue it is not necessary to “entertain” Christians with romantic novels that include worldly lusts and fleshly desires so explicitly. I am a woman who struggles with lust/mental purity and I’ve not allowed myself to read this book because I don’t want to support romantic novels or to dwell on anything of this nature even if it is based on a biblical story. I wouldn’t let my kids read it if I had any. My 2 cents

I agree the book definitely has some definite descriptive scenes however, the book is fashioned from the book of Hosea in the Bible. If you read the book of Hosea before or after reading this book, you may see the story in a different light.In the book of Hosea, you will see that God ked Hosea to take a wife (not a pure wife) and the issues he experienced during his marriage. If you really think the story of the book through, one will see themself as the Harlot, in need of a savior. We, like Angel have many sins yet God loves us anyway and desires for us to turn to him and allow him to give us a better life. Yet, we just can’t comprehend his love and often turn away from him.

In the NT God tells us not to be unequally yoked, and the book romanticizes being unequally yoked. They try to put a Biblical spin on it by saying that it is based on Hosea. God commanded Hosea specifically to marry Gomer to image God's faithfulness to His bride despite His bride's unfaithfulness toward Him. Hosea had a direct command from God, the unequally yoked command was only given in the New Testament, therefore Hosea did not sin. However, God established the terms for marriage clearly in the NT by telling us not to be unequally yoked. You do not marry a person in order to evangelise them, or to help them out of bad circumstances. Marriage is nog a charity case, you have to think about your children.

That face you make Sutton at 14:00 (after you guys made the cut) speaks volumes. The fear, confusion, and hurt you’re expressing is typical when being gaslit and mentally abused over time. It’s an insidious sin that can wreck havoc on everything the Lord calls for you as His Daughter. Bring it all to the light and model for your children God’s truth. I recommend individual therapy to find your voice and learn to take up room in this relationship. You are partners and not made to worship at the alter of a man’s ego.

I think it’s important we watch it ourselves and formulate our own opinions, there’s ppl who loved it and ppl who’ didn’t so it rlly is subjective

@deborahbrant1150
@deborahbrant1150 2 жыл бұрын
@New Soul.9 Masculine or feminine can be applied to both behavior and physical qualities. In my comment, I was praising Sutton's preferences because she prefers the qualities of a masculine man, according to scripture. The world praises the physical qualities of what is masculine or feminine. Using that world's definition then yes, a flat chest and booty are not considered feminine and a short male isn't considered masculine. So you're right, that definition is stupid, but it's not the definition I am using. Being feminine or masculine means something different in the Bible. It's based on character not physical.

@New Soul.9 Every human is loved by God no matter how masculine or feminine they are. No matter how tall, how skinny. All individuals are created and formed by the Lord. We all have preferences in significant others and both Sutton and I were expressing our opinion. And you are too. So let's just leave it at that and all get along. 😆

On dates before being married I think it was always well received if I prayed before the meal. If they didn’t like it, it would make me wonder what was the reason behind it? Now being married it’s just our normal routine to pray before our meals. God provides, the least we could do is thank him!

Sutton seems to want everything : humor, height, muscle, introvert, extrovert, humility, confidence, drive, great teeth/smile, etc. Glad you found him. Just don’t want guys to feel discouraged. This is very thoughtful! Just keep in mind, she did say this was all her opinion and everything she said was her husband which I personally found kinda cute :) I think that’s what guys should take away, there’s a girl who’s ideal type is/will become you and everything you are. She’s also married now, her opinion as a single woman likely isn’t the opinion she had now that she’s married w the love of her life and that’s what is important to remember

I love the book Redeeming Love and happy that the movie is true to the book. I am from Europe and just watched the movie recently. There was apparently so much debate going on in the Christian US about nudity and intimate scenes (it is covered) in the movie, and some youtubers basically telling Christians not to go. I find your positive short review refreshing and at the same time letting people know to be cautious of some scenes. I understand that for some people who are struggling with lust it might not be good idea to watch, but let it be their own conviction. Sometimes US christianity is standing so much for what they are against of and not what they are pro of, that they are turning non-Christians away. So thank you for your positive review! ❤

Could you guys maybe do a review or talk about the book & movie Redeeming Love? The new Christian movie based off the Hosea in the Bible. ❤️ there are Christians on both sides and I just went through another believer trying to convict me almost that I shouldn’t have read the book etc.

Yes please 🙌 I heard about it from Chad and Tori Masters. Had never heard of the book before then but seeing the movie I could relate so much because I had struggled with things in my past that like "Angel" made me feel disqualified from having better and struggling to receive God's love and understanding that He loves me in spite of all of it. I just felt so loved after watching it because in reality that's the situation for a lot of people, even the children of Israel. That's the whole reason we needed a Savior to come to our rescue. I don't know the arguments you've heard though I am curious, but that's my perspective.

I really do love your perspective and that gave me encouragement & as I’ve felt so much judgement in this one Christian saying I shouldn’t have read it basically. And to pray for wisdom & discernment before seeing the movie. She hasn’t read the book, but referenced a Christian podcast Verity by Phylicia Masonheimer. Only listened to about 20 minutes before they related this book to soft porn. I thought that was absurd personally. Been praying about it a lot.

@@taylorhedrick2999 I would say like I say for everything, follow your peace. For some it may pose a problem because of background, history, mindsets, etc; but for others it's not an issue. Like how for some, Starbucks may be addicting while for others (like me who don't care for coffee) there's no desire or temptation there whatsoever. The Holy Spirit speaks to every believer individually and He can lead and guide better than anyone. If the book/movie didn't cause lustful thoughts in your mind or breed any form of temptation for you and you only saw the actual biblical message it offered then it's fine for you. For those who only saw it as a book with sex in it, that's something they need to take to God regarding their own hearts because they're clearly focused on the wrong thing. The movie also had profanity and violence in it as well but no one seems to be talking about that like they harp on the sex; she was a prostitute after all and furthermore Christian couples DO HAVE SEX after marriage as portrayed in the movie. The issue with religion is that it tends to find fault more than finding the love of God. It focuses on rules and judging what it deems to be right vs. wrong instead of focusing on close relationship with God and letting Him be the only righteous judge to correct you if need be, and to do so in a way that gives grace (unmerited favor and the ability to do live how He calls you to live) instead of condemnation.

Truly loved everything about your reply / response. Will be referring back to this! Truly spoke to me on just how Christianity, Church, Religion can focus on the bad & the rules. I felt a lot of that which I never have and it really rubbed me wrong the way, so I’m praying peace over that, because I see how people can be “hurt by the church.” Again, thank you for your well written response - means a lot

I thought man i wish he was nicer and thats y we broke up 🤣 maybe its better to do a poll of many women people change their minds when they fall in love so really none of this stuff matters in the end. We fall for the heart.

With the being straight toward thing I think it definitely depends on the girl. Growing up in church I feel like it’s a taboo thing for girls to make it known that they like someone because guys are supposed to be the pursuer. I don’t think it’s wrong for a girl to pursue also.

I agree and also Charlotte as a Christian guy myself it will just make me assume #1 she's not interested, #2 she's fearful to be vulnerable in her interests of me out of fear I'll later reject her, #3 she's too prideful and feels she deserves to be chased because she's the prize and people need to overly exalt her value. So yeah overall I'd see the spirit of confusion over a women like that and would have no more interests because my father comes with clarity and a sound mind😇

I think it's simply that often times the nice ones arent physically attractive to us. It's almost like we're expected to just accept a nice guy because he is nice but physical attraction (whether it comes after getting to know them and you have thst switch-flip moment or you like them off the bat) is very important. Not highly, but substantially enough because attraction is the only thing that distinguishes that person from any other brethren in Christ. So it would be extremely dishonouring to lead someone to believe you are attracted to them by agreeing to a relationship with them and that aspect is not there.
