A fun addition that would probably add a couple hours: Pitch the inner rib toward the swell on each side so the pitch is open to the larger end of each cavity, creating a transition in the middle. Would be tricky, but it would add a movement concept. Still this is a great looking piece!

The bowl is a master piece. Excellent craftmanship. Are you able to re-saw with that foot powered bandsaw? I wish I could find tools like that clamp and the huge saw that you used. All I find are power tools. Thanks for sharing

Do the straps on your forearms help with preventing "tennis" elbow? I always get it from extended heavy hand tool use. I don't why its tennis elbow anyway, it should be axe elbow in my case.

Exactly. I got a bad case of tendinitis in my elbows a few years ago and these straps make a huge difference!

You sir are a magician, an artist, and a woodworker combined. I noticed that you sawed into the carving bench @15:31. Do you change the bench often, or do you just reinforce it in some way?

Ещё вы мне очень напомнили лесорубов, которые участвуют в соревнованиях, где на время распиливают брёвна, потому что постоянно засекаете время. Вообщем, спасибо вам большое за ответ! Ну и извините, что пишу на русском, всё-таки вам приходится переводить, но просто как показывает практика, все переводчики очень топорные, а мой английский тоже не сильно далеко ушёл.

Really nice work! i have a question, you put that white liquid/cream to prevent it from cracking because the wood was green, i get it. But then, once you finished working on it, why wouldn't it crack anymore? Why no need for this cream anymore? Did you also put it inside too? Other one, how about sandpapering, i expect the answer to this question is gonna be "depends on ones taste", but when do you feel like it is necessary? i tend to sandpaper everything, i guess i abuse it

I dried the bowl slowly inside paper and plastic bags. I don't use much sandpaper because a hand carved bowl should look hand carved - with tools marks.

In order to do a true Danish oil finish the formula is oil once a day for a week then one a week for a month, once a month for a year then at last once a year from then on and you will have a nice oil finish. Do nothing more and after a month the bowl will look like it has no finish on it at all and prone to cracking and warping.
