Quick breakfast is ready in minutes! Delicious Ham Cheese French Toast Sandwiches
Ingredients:
3 Eggs
2tbsp Milk
2 slices of ham
80g Mozzarella chees
2tbsp Unsalted butter
Salt, black pepper
Mayonnaise
4 slices of bread
Recipe:
3 eggs
30ml milk
Salt
Black pepper
Mix well
4 slices of bread
Mayonnaise
Spread a thin layer evenly on each slice of bread
3 slices of ham
Rip up the ham and place on two slices of bread
80g mozzarella cheese
Sprinkle on top of the ham
Place the slice of bread with mayonnaise on top of the slice with ham and cheese
Medium-low heat
28g unsalted butter
Dip the bread in the egg mixture
Place in the pan
Fry for 3-5 minutes
Flip over and fry for 2-3 minutes
Done!
Crispy and cheesy!
So delicious!

All of you posting this is Monte Crisco....thank you! I loved this sandwich at Macy's years ago. I couldn't find a recipe until today. Alittle spicy mustard and BINGO!

This isn't a Monte Cristo sandwich. They are savory and sweet, not spicy, they are using sandwich bread instead of breading from a badder, and there's no jelly, the absolute Hallmark of a Monte Cristo. Glad you found what you wanted, but this is just a grilled cheese sandwich.

While cheddar is a popular choice, I think the full fat, high moisture mozzarella will melt more easily. Mild cheddar melts faster than aged cheddar.

Great idea! I used with what I had @ home & was great! Used some brioche with sweet mustard & smoked salmon. Super start to the day! Thanks so much --- easy & tasty. Open minds help. French toast refers only to sliced bread soaked in beaten eggs & often milk, then pan fried.

I get exhausted watching people grate cheese. Hold it against your palm, start at the top of the grater and swipe down. 4-5 swipes will make that same amount!

……yes, me too! If it’s going to be dipped in egg, & fried, there’s really no need for anything on the bread. If you want to make it more tasty, a very thin amount if Hot English Mustard would be ideal for the ham…………

Me 2 I don't eat butter either, I just skip those 2 ingredients and use olive oil. Cook and enjoy .

You could also omit the Mayo, and when it's completed, use pancake syrup on the sandwich. Just like regular French toast

After you have flipped it once in the pan to give a top sided crispy base, add more cheese and cover it until mealted, by this time the raw base will also be crispy.... top it with a poached egg and herb of choice.

I never put salt & pepper in the eggs for French toast ,is usually sweet, also why tear up the slice of ham & grate the cheese, makes no sense if it's a fast breakfast, actually it looks like a Monte Carlo sandwich instead of French Toast

I will be honest i woukd not eat it first the mayonnaise and cheese for breakfast is a no no Secondly cooked in butter or margarine it will be very grease Last when it came to cutting it up it was a totaly different one as in frying pan you coukd see the contents inbetween the bread last one its seaked up

French toast only means sliced bread soaked in beaten eggs & often milk, then pan fried. The wonders of Cinnamon & sugar are yet another wonderful thing, but not in the definition of French toast.
