I have an original from around 1917. It has genuine mother of pearl scales. The standard handle material was hard black rubber, this one was a special order. Unfortunately someone took a grinder to the blade, not realizing the value. Absolutely beautiful nonetheless, and amazing how safe it is for a folder. This one was manufactured in the U.S.A. in New York State. P.S. Carbon steel blade.

I have seen these on eBay but never been tempted but after this I might be at the right price. I have a Spanish made Andujar folding hunter with a 7 1/2" 440 blade and a 41/2" olive wood handle with a back lock, it comes in a leather sheath that looks more like a holster, I bought over 15 years ago, a nice knife but I don't think I have ever used it.

Tobias when did they come out with the scrimshaw? I have the safety hunter that a friend gave me about 5 years ago did a video about it too. Just thought it was to cool with the fake stag scales and all.👍😎

Beautiful specimen of the MR256. A few years ago I just missed getting one, my last one in the series, by a couple of minutes my bad. Haven't seen one since. Thanks for showing this Tobias and if you would ever consider a good trade for it I would be willing.
