I broke things off with a man I was talking to. It was incredibly difficult for me to actually do it. The result was not good. I feel worse than ever and haven't been able to sleep because of it. Dating is so hard.

He was emotionally manipulating you with that response - red flag. You dodged a bullet. Eta: I also don't think you need to analyze anything. He said he wanted to pursue a relationship so clearly he felt you treated him well. His response was based on his own feelings of rejection.

Those are the type who call themselves “nice guys” and yet make comments like this to make you feel bad, because they didn’t get what they wanted. It’s ridiculous. You dodged a bullet! If he behaves this way just through text, imagine how he’d behave if you guys actually lived together, what he’d do if he didn’t get what he wanted. You do not deserve that. I don't usually comment on videos but I would like to say don't cry or overthink anymore. He did not accept your rejection -- there is no karma for this. If you are seeking a committed relationship and he suggests coming over, then there is your answer about who he is so reject. The other man offering a date is a still a possibility. Can a man suggest a date to deceive a woman to think he is serious about pursuing her? Yes, possible. But, a man with serious intentions would not suggest coming over. Women must think and operate like a man -- logical and detached to the outcome. I am not saying cold and calculating and reject your emotions. As long as your rejection is done in kindness, you have done nothing wrong. Stay strong!

You dodged a bullet. That’s a red-flag response. You didn’t go wrong. You did exactly right! 🫶🏼 ETA: He said that to make you feel bad. It’s okay to feel bad, but just know that doing anything except whatever he imagined he’s entitled to would have turned him mean.
