@Robert Bandy build is a broad term. Technically this qualifies. Copied from my Google search "car build definition" "A vehicle build is the vehicles entire progression and includes engine modification, internal modification or restoration, aesthetic modification or restoration, and additional work that is done to a vehicle to reach a final "vision." Being built, is motor modification."
@xRSAkingx
@xRSAkingx 3 жыл бұрын
@Robert Bandy it's not a check list bud. You can build a car without touching the engine. It's changing anything on the car to REACH THE FINAL VISION. Which is different for everyone. When's the last time you had a build, friend? I've done everything from a frame of LS swap that you see in my profile pic, to simply replacing the boring exhaust and headlights on my truck to make it my final vision. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And that beauty is in their own respective builds.

Being 100% real here. I have been a supporter and fan of this channel for years, and I find I have not been interested to watch the last few videos you guys have put out. I try to watch, and then find I fast forward through the whole thing, or don't click on it. I gave feedback when you guys posted that video asking for some a few months back. I figured you guys would still want feedback now to keep growing. If not, ignore this post. I just have no appeal to the content being put out recently. Keeping it real. I do not watch the long unboxing videos of random parts. I just don't care to, unless it is followed up with track data. I skip most of these videos with random cars getting minor mods. I feel bad because I know it takes your time and effort to make them. In the end I am a track focused person. Your track content and comparisons you put out over the years is what I loved. Taking random cars, putting coilovers/wheels/lip kits/bumper repairs/etc is not what got my support originally. I know you guys have a bunch of cars sitting around to work on (supra, s15, fd etc), and I hope there will be less focus on part revealing/long expensive builds, and more on seat time and track mod comparisons. Like back to back comparisons of different pads/tires/turbos/manifolds/alignment setups/aero changes/comparing how different cars drive against each other. What there strengths and weaknesses are, and how they respond to different mods. Jumping in someone's built car and giving feedback on its behavior on track, with lap times of all cars you have tested. Those are the videos I miss. I will say the production quality is awesome. It is sick to see that evolve for you guys. You will always have my support, and I'm hyped to see where 2021 takes Speed Academy. Much love, A janky turbo miata hpde driver from NY

Hi guys, the cause of this paint peel is that the previous painter didn’t sealed the bumper with a special plastic primer. You have to degrease it first with a plastic degreaser to “soften” the material after that you need to scotchbrite it. No sandpaper needed, it came obviously new so not damaged. After that redegreased and primed. And then paint and clear. Greetings from Belgium. Love your channel, best content! I would love to give you a hand on your projects, but the ride home after a day of work would be a long one!!!

PT...pimpin’ the wife’s whip...like a boss ! I have to say, I’ve been a huge fan of what you guys do for a while now, but your new approach to content is excellent and more car based channels should emulate you. By varying your content menu, capitalizing on your relationship with DP AND the fans, injecting self deprecating humour and keeping the originality that’s made you special, I think you’ve hit on a great approach!

I’ve had a CT200h for a little over a year now. I love it. Plenty of power to feel sporty paired with the amazing steering. I love pushing it into corners and coming out fast. Great car I love mine. The paint on the front bumper is cheap as seen in the video for some reason, I have some of the same problems but not nearly as harsh. Rocks will hit the bumper and chip paint at high speeds but nothing a little touch up paint can’t fix well enough. The interior is pleasing to look at. Amazing leather seating. Some of the plastic feels cheap but most of it is well done. Back seat is very small so don’t expect to be hauling 4 fairly sized people very often. I love the interior design though aside from the overuse of plastic where there is no leather. Makes me feel like I’m in a Lexus. The driving experience is amazing imo. I love taking tight corners at high speeds with it, the fwd is great for pulling through turns and the light body weight makes it so there is absolutely no body roll whatsoever. However, in a straight line you aren’t gonna be winning any races! The car gets up to speed though so don’t think it’s too slow for daily use and merging into traffic it has plenty of power for casual usage. The small size males lane changing easy in small spaces and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been able to squeeze into a turn left only lane where a truck couldn’t fit! Parking is so easy you can park this thing anywhere no problem. The hatch back is great for daily use and this car has single handedly made me want a hatchback for my next cars to come! One thing I’ll note is the suspension is very stiff so hitting a pothole hurts everytime whereas a truck could brush it off, you’ll know you hit something in this little guy! (Very easy to dodge things in the road though since the width of the car is so small you could fit 1.75 of the car in 1 lane.) I love the car. Great on the wallet. Dealership maintenance can get pricy but that’s the cost of driving a luxury car and having the reliability of a Lexus. I’ve seen many of these last more than 100k miles and I’m hoping that mine is no exception! Feel free to ask me questions about the care if u need to, hope I could help! :)

Late to the comment section but I had to jump in. 1. I really like this build. Simple, easy, functional and affordable for most mortals like me. 2. I really like this car. I'm a Toyota loyalist, so it reinforces how easy, most of the time, maintaining and upgrading them is. Not always, but mostly. 3. DP, I'd love to see a step-by-step, or some time lapse version, of how you detail. I'm in awe of your skill with the Rupes, and I want to learn more. 4. Similarly, PD I'm also curious about how you think about tire/wheel size (e.g. what fits and what doesn't, what looks good, etc.) and I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Thanks for the creativity. It's been motivating during the craziness that we're living through, more so south of Ontario where I'm at than where you are. Regardless, I'm learning a lot ... as is my 17 year old son. It's awesome to have a few shared interests with your kids.

I just got my 2011 Ct a month or so ago after my TC got totaled. My Ct is black but I want it wrapped white so bad with a lip. I wish I watched this video before I purchased my tires yesterday. Love that you feature this model and modifications! I’d honestly buy another when the time comes.

Definitely poorly done paint work. All Toyota bumper covers come in raw plastic. They need to be baked through a booth cycle to off-gas any remaining mold release agents. Then they need to be scuffed and re-cleaned. Once they are in the booth: they require an application of an adhesion promoter, then a primer sealer, then your typical base/clear- the flex additive/agent normally gets added into the clear coat.

boys the new style of fast install content is gold. Very entertaining great choice. But we all still like the full on in depth vidz too.

Love these quick and “easy” builds. I’ve only watched a few, but have noticed that you usually don’t touch the brake calipers - even just a paint touch up - might be worth it...maybe. You guys are great though. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for calling out the dealer. Warranties should honor someone's work. Ownership transfers do not affect craftsmanship.
