Quick fix for the infamous 240sx timing chain Rattle

Hello everyone, here is a video on how to fix the 240sx timing chain rattle. This method of fixing the timing chain is done by everyone including myself and it works. my first 240 had the same issue. We fixed it 2 years ago and the rattling sound hasn't come back yet.

My 98 Nissan frontier rattles only when starting and will go away after about 3 maybe 5 seconds . I had already replaced all the chain guides ( not the chain ) and still get this rattle. I can almost hear it in your 240sx after your repair also

I am trying to do this rn on my own and my dad kept bugging me over my sholder cuz he didn’t want me messing anything up then came time to take off the distributor and that’s when he got all scared saying when I put it back it’s gonna mess up the timing on my chain even though I had already marked with a marker where it originally was and I was wondering if that’s true so I can finish up in time 5:54

People, please don't use RTV on the valve cover. Especially when it's not leaking. 🤦‍♂️

Or the plastic breaks off the guide and plugs up your oil pickup along with that shit ton of rtv that they used to seal up everything.

Hey man I have a question i removed the timing chain guides and put everything back on now the car cranks but doesn’t start? Any suggestions? Really need the help lol maybe i put the distributor on wrong?

Hmm let’s go down the list. 1) Check to see if the battery is charged. 2) are you getting spark. 3) are you getting fuel.4) check if there are vacuum leak.5) check fuses maybe do this first

@@KosaWitAK loosen then distributor so that it can rotate left and right. Don’t take off the screws. Now have someone inside crank it and all you need to do is rotate the distributor left and right slowly until you get the timing right. Move it right first, if it doesn’t fire up go left

Possibly bad motor mounts? I had the same issue but turns out that they were just loose. 😂
