I love that your videos show the same journey that we are all on. Have an idea. Make it. Use it. Mod it, catch your Christmas jumper on it, get into trouble for messing up the car,. Mod it again, go camping, Mod it again, get it to a point where its finished or you are happy to live with its quirks.

These bonnet catches are a great idea! I can envisage myself putting these on different things and making all kinds of quick-release attachments to quickly put on/off. When that table is down, you could have a little spice rack shelf that clips onto the table clips, or even perhaps attach a light to them. All kinds of possibilities with this one change.

Hi Andrew - I had not seen these before and like you I am now thinking what else they could be used for - the lunch box ? Molle plates ? etc

To get the tablet to sit closer when closed undo the nut and screw the thread in further and retighten the nut back up
@mvirdi23332 жыл бұрын
Hi 👋 I think this is better than the screw type and looks nice 👌 and clean. Thanks 🙏 🙏

Yes it is super nice and clean - but still cant decide which is best

Cool you did mount them! Happy that it worked out, a thank you bracket freebie will do ;) Btw, I guess a wooden insert will be a nice addition and “solves” the issue with the exposed latch.
@L6632 жыл бұрын
No problem - send an email to customer service and a bracket kit is on its way as a think you for your idea and help !

Just had delivery of your kit thanks and happy with the original 💡 idea. What about the tow loop steps😁
@L6632 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew - i did see your name on the orders going out ! The tow steps are now laser cut and at the platers ( Zinc plating ) before heading off to the powder coaters ( all local in Swindon )

@@L663 fitted one of these at the weekend, super solid - was a good call to go thicker and not use the checker plate 👍🤓

best defender table is on the ones before new defender and that being the front bonnet and wings. defender bar or family picnic table lol

Best was the series 1 when the grille could be used for BBQ !

I've had the bonnet pins fitted for a couple of weeks now and there is absolutely no vibration on my table and I haven't had to fit any pipe to the pins, I just made sure the pins were adjusted properly.
@L6632 жыл бұрын
I am not sure of the quality of my pins - but having said that i think the rubber pipe actually looks better than the exposed thread

What about doing one of these for the freelander? Would be worth while i think. Also possiblely a heat shield or heat resistant replacement cover for the plastic trim may be worth a look. Or diamond plate?
@L6632 жыл бұрын
My stove has the back so i have not worried too much about the rear heat protection but we have discussed this.

Those who drive on corrugated roads may find the hand tightened knurled knobs will vibrate and unscrew themselves, whereas the ‘bonnet catches’ will remain in situ.
