It is a "pace stick", it splits down the middle to form a triangle and is used by drill instructors to measure certain lengths of pace when marching, thirty inch, 27 inch etc... The smaller one carried by the lance corporal is a swagger stick used to prevent other ranks from putting their hands in their pockets as their hands would be busy holding said stick. Lance corporal has a swagger stick, sergeant who is the higher rank carries a pace stick.

Jumped up jobsworth, thats used to speaking to squaddies like dirt, no need to be carrying a pace stick out in public, not measuring the pace, but it could become an offensive weapon out in public. In my day they where known as (RP) regimental police, who ended up doing that job because they had no trade or very little education, all they could do was shout and ball, the army didn't waste its time putting educated tradesman at the guard room. Dont get me wrong it was a cushy number, away from regimental bullshit, the SGT made his own BS, or prisoners in the guardroom did the work. While we are on the subject of jobsworth, the DVSA guy needs to learn some common courtesy when addressing members of the public, and needs to brush up on his trespassing laws.

Ladybird Book of Old People “extract”: Grandad has a new “power job” - following a weeks training course at our expense, he gets to press a little blue button to weigh vehicles, and then he gets to write down on a little piece of paper (with his own pencil) if they’re too heavy. He’s then allowed to post those off somewhere. He’s really exited about it, he gets a Yellow Jacket and an ID badge and everything. He’s so cool. Grandad can also shout at law abiding members of the public, he can make up Laws, tell people what to do - even if what they’re doing is 100% legal. He’s really cool. This 2 day a week job gets him out of the care home, (provided his medication is increased and he’s supervised). A little white van takes him to and from the weighing machine. Some days he’s allowed to sit in the front of the van next to the driver, which is very exciting for Grandad. Grandad lives for his power job. Grandad loves shouting orders at people. Grandad loves his little job. Grandad is very happy. He dreams of being a PCSO or Traffic Warden one day …

If you have ever served in the military, I did 38 and bit years in the RAF you would fully understand why service men and women get a bit twitchy when some unknown individual films military establishments. You may think getting out of bed every day and deliberately seeking confrontation in this manner is a really clever thing to do however the military has learnt to it's cost over the years that this is exactly how terrorists gather info on potential targets. Rather than acting like a complete and utter tool when politely asked by the SNCO and JNCO as to what you were doing you might try and see things from their perspective and act with a little more understanding of the world we currently live in.

@@WildB06 In a nutshell. That people cannot see this, particularly after the last 2 years is deeply worrying. All my old colleagues still mind warped by the years of indoctrination. Listen how they refer to Russia as the ‘bad boys’ in episode 2. Russia is more of a nation state democracy than USA or U.K. Putin a true leader who protects the nation of Russia and its culture. We need a strong Russia if the world is to have any hope.

That guy was a complete ham shanker mate and well done for keeping your cool. Why do these idiots think they are able to come and bark orders at us in public ? what makes them think that they are allowed to tell us what to do ? Thats what the problem is at the moment to many people telling and to many people listening, we all need to unite and make this world a better place and bring down these tyrants.

Yeah he's really mastered the art of being rude though he likes talk over others and then call them rude. I would expect to see those manners with a child. I don't know if his parents are to blame for not raising him to act the way a mature adult should. Maybe it's a cultural thing or simply the result of a bad upbringing in which case I feel very sorry for AB and hope things can only get better for him.

Ha ha! I have lived around the military for many years. They take people with a basic education put them in a uniform and instill a kind of confidence in them. Although they can take charge of a situation quite easily, the lack of education always shines through, barking orders is easy enough but actually communicating and at the same time listening to what is being said and analyzing that information is often above their station.
@hudsonbear50382 жыл бұрын
Whilst I would have agreed with some of you statement I would also disagree as well..Not everyone who joins up are of low education at all... And infact todays recruit have far less intelligence than before... And before you say I guess you served yes I did for 30yrs and I joined having passed 14 exams my lowest grade was a D and my average was B's. And my intake was of a similar education(and no we was not Ruperts either). But I guess to you that is a low standard of education..
