Quicksilver Pilot House 675. Sea Angling Classic south coast trip.

To attend the sea agnling media event 2021 i had to cruse across some lovely seas and pass some amazing sights. It was a 350+ nautical mile round trip solo. Quite a bit of fuel used and some incredible life experiences made. It was a 5 day trip leaving Thursday morning and returning early Monday.
Unfortunately we didnt get much footage of the action and the clips we did record was really bad. We did catch quite a few fish and held our own in the SAC
There were quite alot of people that helped us from sourcing bait in a record time of a few hrs. Thank you “devon cart baits“ within a few hrs i have a few hundred peelers and about 50kg of fish baits in different variations, thanks mr swaffield you are the best. Ross Honey made something special and look forward to seeing how the comp develops in the future.

Hi Mike, the boats are great! Ive found the most efficient speed is about the 22-24knt mark. In swells dont be afraid to weight her down. Fill up the fish boxes and be full of fuel and she will push through most swells. The swim platforms are brilliant for lure fishing and vertical jigging. She sits in a drift well and is very user friendly. The windlass doesnt like rope so i have 45m solid chain and a separate anchor for deeper marks. I keep Gadget very clean and wax her to keep the elements at bay and it pays off. A clean boat is a safe boat

Hey David, great video with a 675. I bought a 2021 recently and am trying to find out if a short shaft kicker would be long enough to be used as a rescue engine when installed on the bracket. I also want to use the engine on a small RIB. What are the specs of your kicker engine?

No mate short shaft wont work if your bracket is factory fitted.

Do you find that boat slams much through short chop of say 1/1.5ft or does it cut through it smoothly? Reason I ask is that I’ve currently got a Raider and fancy something more comfortable. Cheers

The raider is a great hull! The 675 and smaller does have a tendency to slam but only when light. If its a bit choppy i open the bungs on the fish hold tanks under the deck and this stops the slamming and also helps the boat penetrate swells. The 755 is only a little bit bigger but is alot heavier so it cuts through most swells. The smaller boats that sit high in the water will all slam at a certain speed. 16 knots on the 675 is comfortable with no slamming but not that economical to run at that speed.

Its a great boat! If you do get one go for the larger motor size. It will help keep the nose up and be more efficient. It has everything i need as it has the whole package as this was the ex demo boat
