Welcome to It's OK to talk!
Here we talk about lots of interesting things.. (To me, anyway)
These things can include addiction to alcohol and binge drinking, marijuana/cannabis/weed addiction, addiction to sugar, processed food and binge eating, addiction to pornography and social media, dealing with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, men's mental health, personal accountability, the benefits of physical exercise and maintaining a healthy diet, challenging yourself daily both physically and mentally and much, much more.
In this particular video I talk about quitting alcohol for 90 days.

There’s ten minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Just drink dude, you’re not ready to quit

Steve G, thank you for giving me those 10 minutes, I'm almost at 4,000 watch time hours and then we can see if this channel is capable of making any money. I agree with you, I wasn't ready to quit in this video. It's a choice, to drink or not, always has been and always will be.

That is also some really solid advice. I've been to rehab before. Checked myself out on day 30 and went to the bottle store. It didn't work for me, but it does give you the chance to think straight again and make a conscious choice. Sadly my choice at that time, 2021, was to continue drinking. I hadn't let myself down enough times yet obviously. I also had to wait 4 months to get in. But it was an amazing facility and huge amount of kudos and respect goes to the councilors and support workers there. They were fantastic.

Ive been sitting here thinking of what to write that both supports you and helps you yet points out some things ive noticed. The direction your going in, as you know leads only one place. Your not on day 86 your on day 0. Ive herd you say this is the last one. You seam like a cool guy. your engaging and interesting you have a lot going for you. My advise is forget about being a better person or a better anything. You have only one thing that you know you need to do . Get some help or at least get people who dont drink around you. do some thing different man, i want so badly to see some success for you. im in your corner please please please go hard and get this. you can do it i promise!!!!

The thing is he don't want to stop yet, if he did that bottle would have been picked down the drain

Fucking legend bro. Words of wisdom right there. No wonder this comment has so many likes. Sadly I could only work this shit out for myself. I had to let go of everything and focus on one thing at a time. The first of which, removing alcohol. Then reassess. Now that I can think straight it's a beautiful feeling.

I don't know why I started it, but I'm glad I did. It's helped me through relapse and I'm hoping helps others too. Thanks for the support.

People, don't beat your children like my father beat me. He used a stick, his fist, of push kick me down the stairs when I was 10 yrs old. I still have a scar, bump on my head where I was bleeding. Mom did nothing. Cops did nothing. School did nothing. Years of beating till I was in college and could get away. Anyway. After years of drinking, i went to a treatment center stayed for a week, then did a daytime program 7 days a week. Then 5 , 3, then 3 part time day. Now i dont drink, no cravings etc. No desire to get buzzed, drunk, relax, etc. Im fine without it. What a waste. Lost so much time, good memories, caused a lot of bad ones for many i know. Now my daughter is off to college soon. Hopefully she stay away from people like my old me

Man. I’ve enjoyed your content for a long time and it has hurt me to watch you go through this, but I have a few thoughts. First, if it hasn’t been made clear to you yet, you can’t do this on your own. You are strong and capable but this diseases is stronger than anyone. Part of getting through this disease is admitting that YOU alone aren’t enough, you need help. Whether it be a rehab facility or a 12 step program, you need someone else there to encourage and help keep you accountable. But more than that, you need someone to lean on. Forcing yourself to carry this burden on your own is only making it harder. Second, you mentioned struggling with depression even before you were using alcohol. Getting sober is not going to magically fix that. You need to seek help for your depression as well. In fact, getting help for your depression may make the process of getting clean easier. I love you man and I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but I hate watching you continue to beat yourself because you can’t beat this thing on your own. As your channel say, It’s Ok To Talk, and I think you need to talk to someone outside of KZfaq. I wish you nothing but the best and am always willing to listen if you don’t have anyone else.

I'm not saying that isn't good advice, and it may work for him, but I just want to clarify that it absolutely can be done alone. My drinking habits and relapse cycle was very similar to his, it took me multiple attempts but I am now over a year sober and have never received any external help whatsoever, I didn't even have a youtube community to share with. Again, I'm not saying it's not good advice and it certainly can't hurt seeking external support, but it's not impossible to do it alone

Both comments here are really awesome. Both sides of the coin. One, I have tried. The other, I'm doing as we speak. I don't think anyone was ever going to be able to help me or push me in the right direction. I had to make my way there myself and as of today I am on that path. At the time I made this video, I was fucking done. I had just let myself down once again, coming to the end of 90 days knowing that this time, just wasn't the time for me. Maybe the next time would be. So far, so good.

Haha, I read this comment a couple of weeks ago and it made me laugh. I am a Dad now, I guess it's socks, sandles, and a polo shirt tucked into shorts next.

you look like your in a prison cell with the brick wall and bedstead behind you, but seriously i absolutely love your channel and honesty and integrity, i havent found any other channel that tells it like it is and doesnt say life is so much better without alcohol because for me it isnt, im female and in the UK but i feel like you are a male version of me, everything you say is what i would say if i did a youtube channel..one thing i would say though is that your pattern of drinking is mine to a tee, but i dont call it a relapse i just say its 'my pattern of drinking'

The problem with buying one bottle is the domino effect starts to happening . Just pour it down the sink you will feel fine , I'm sober typing this so it's quite funny . Gfs got beers in the fridge and I've got no booze of my own , bit of a tease . But cant be bothered driving down the road lol . And she hates me drinking her booze , so I'm not even going to test that shit , ill just make ice cream coffees for a buzz .

Awesome man. That to me says that it's simply not worth it for you any longer to drink. You've found other things in life that are worth more. That's the journey I'm on at the moment.

@@itsoktotalk True that , I was almost there at one stage tbh . I was like fck this shit , feel back to the trap once again . Quit silly doing stupid things when ya know their bad for you aye . The problem for me is I'm surround by idiots and they stress me out . No normality around here that's for sure . Neighbors are so fcking annoying along with flatmates . They drive me insane . Neighbors all speak very loudly slamming their door constantly and yelling out rood shit all the time , feel like burning their house down lol . Ever since they moved in they put me on the edge . So hard to fcking relax . As soon as I saw them move in I was like here's trouble , they looked like fcking idiots and sure enough they are . I think a few of them are on meth tbh . When they speak , they sound like a million miles an hour . Some prick also opened my gfs car and ripped the sub controller out , I have no idea why . I know it has something to do with them . No such thing as a coincidence . Not even kidding I heard them slam the front door twice whilst typing this .
