Goku will always be the man who strives for the next tier, the next challenge. He’ll always be constantly improving and reinventing himself. And that’s what we love to see from him. His resilience and will to improve. Even if sometimes it’s a detriment to those around him at times. And on the other hand is Superman, who is already at the very peak of godhood, but instead of being selfish or self centered with those given gifts he actually strives to be a good person who just wants to use those powers and responsibility to inspire those around him to be and do better. This battle amongst all the others has always been a charged one. But I think Death Battle did a good job capping it off and sealing this fight away. Giving Superman his maximum power in any fight is simply giving him the win. After all, “he’s as powerful as he needs to be” in order to save the day. And for someone like Goku who’s whole character revolves around breaking limits well, it’s like a hamster on a wheel. He’ll be forever chasing an impossible goal. And like they said even if he did beat someone like Superman it would simply just destroy what his character stands for. Regardless of who you like the fight was fun and both character’s were respected and given reverence for their respective symbolism. As a Superman fan it just made me appreciate Goku more as a character. Heck maybe I’ll even pick up the latest scans of the manga to see where he’s at right now.

to answer your questions about superman 1) superman gets his powers from a yellow sun. krypton orbited a red sun, thus and his people would be no more stronger or faster that us. kryptonite was created as a byproduct of the destruction of his home planet irradiating pieces of it. the planet wasn't made of kryptonite. 2) superman does train. imagine you take a fresh raw egg out of the refrigerator, putting it in your hand and then punch a punching bag as hard as you can with that same hand without breaking the egg. that's what superman has trained his whole life to do: interact with people without almost killing someone by giving them a hug or something. 3) goku is not "japan's superman", due to his mentality and his........questionable moral choices. honestly, all might and saitama fit the bill better than goku in that regard. honestly, folks who say "superman is OP" or "superman is lame" probably never read a single superman story ever. goku is about how to achieve greatness. but superman is about what one does with that greatness. at the end of the day, if my family was in danger from a alien invasion or villain attack, i would want to see superman well before i would want to see goku.

I rewatched the video and I read the comments. And everyone saying that "It's one sided." "Goku beat gods" and it's evident that no one listened. Dragon Ball's Gods can be beaten and passed by mortals. It's known and shown in the show. Superman has feats of actually beating real God's and those God's can be killed by only Gods and Superman. They've even stated that one God survived a battle with Superman and Superman killed the God's brother and he said and I quote, "To live and tell the story of my brother's demise was Superman's gift the the whole universe. To show that there's one to protect it. And to stay away. My brother's crown and my tale are scarecrows to existence." Goku is a great character but even with ultra instinct is out of Superman's league. Maybe if everyone payed attention instead of whining maybe. Just maybe, you would understand how strong Superman is.

I can't even begin to tell you how refreshing it is to see someone rooting for Goku, getting angry at the outcome, but still listening to, and understanding, the reason why Goku lost. A lot of Goku fans will just either turn their brains off as soon as Superman wins or focus on the wrong parts of the analysis to justify their anger. Many will even accuse the writers of bias when Chad James (co-creator of Death Battle and voice of Boomstick) has said multiple times that he hates Superman and loves Dragon Ball Z. It's especially tragic because they have gone out of their way in both Goku vs Superman episodes to show as much respect to Goku as possible, only to still be accused of bias. I was ready to tell you not to watch Goku vs Superman 1 because this one spoils the ending of that one, but if that's not a problem, I do highly recommend it. The animation isn't nearly as good, but literally everything else about it blows this one out of the water. It's bigger, it's longer, it's grander, it's just an insane battle, and even the analysis goes into way more depth about both characters, while this one pretty much glosses over it to save time. So, again, I want to thank you for being so open-minded, and I would actually love to discuss things with you if you still have any questions.

Goku represents the will it takes to transcend one's limits. Superman represents one who has no limits except his own will to impose moral & ethical limits upon himself. The only practical limitation stems on Superman being a living solar battery, he passively absorbs & stores sunlight. He'd have to be deprived of sunlight for a long time (or he has to make *excessive* use of his heat vision, because it's the biggest single drain on his stored energy) to run down his stored energy. Even out in the depths of interstellar space he can still function for quite a long time on just the relatively slight amounts of starlight that reaches him. In essence, when Superman wants to sunbathe, he does so literally...Bathing *inside* the sun. Goku would have to expend energy to resist such heat & energy output but for Superman it's like having a huge banquet all to himself. Goku's Ultimate Instinct form is likely to give problems to Superman for a time, but Goku can only maintain it until his energy runs low...As long as Superman is exposed to sunlight, he's gaining energy; his only practical problem is if how much & how long his rate of energy *use* exceeds his energy intake. Another big difference is that Goku still keeps looking for more fights while Superman looks for ways to end fights. This is why Superman's sense of morality & ethics becomes so important; Heck, Superman even addresses this in his famous "World of Cardboard" speech that you can find right here on KZfaq. BTW, Superman commonly tanks his foe's attacks to gauge their power...He's trying to minimize collateral damage. He also does the same thing when he intercepts attacks aimed at normal people.

The problem with Dragon Ball feats is that they stopped visually progressing at that Saiyan Saga. They were planet busters back then. Everything they're capable after is just speculation. We're told they get stronger, but we're not shown that. Just the usual teleports behind you for speed and no selling attacks. It really irritates me. Goku is literally a fighting genius who has been training his whole life to the point now he can rival God's and Angels alike. Goku can kill Canon superman. I'm talking about how superman was originally suppose to be, Goku can mop the floor with him. But superman now a days makes no sense. He is literally an overpowered boss with super armor that can take anything you throw at him unless you have a green rock. No skill, no passion in his character today. Yeah, these old DB videos haven’t aged well. As fun as the fight is, the info on them is outdated. You can tell because the first fight was before Battle of Gods and just around the time the New 52 was starting, but then the second video comes out just when DB Super is releasing and DC brought back the og Superman. It’s such a mess. In their DB Cast, they’ve mentioned how this is one of those fights they’d wish they could redo because they’re not happy with how they did these at the time. It was before they had a research team and was before either characters had shown some of their more insane feats. Still a fun fight, but very outdated.

The problem with death battle is that when there are multiple versions of a character they don't use a version so it's very vague on what they are scaling especially when they scale feats wrongful (Goku's speed in this case). A great example of this is that both beat each other. Like Goku can beat allot of versions of Superman but they are some like Superman prime and cosmic that he can't beat. So it can get very confusing when they just skim and don't go over it which is there big problem since they have to condense down the videos.

This episode was the strangest form of bias I've seen in a while. Yes Supes won but listen to how they talk about him in comparison to Goku. Burying his character while sucking off Goku (As if Goku doesn't have his own issues with his character writing). It doesn't help that Ben (I believe it was Ben, correct me if I'm wrong) has gone on record saying he doesn't like Superman. Saying "Superman isn't supposed to be relatable" Despite several stories exploring the various relatable aspects of Superman. This is one of the few episodes I'd say have a veery clear bias, just not in the way people think. Fuck this episode. Both characters deserved better.
