I don’t understand, agree really, with your point on it being necessary to bridge the pay disparity between the women’s game and the men’s. Are women banned from men’s events? Not as far as I know. If you’re good enough to qualify, you’re in, period. Correct me if I’m wrong here, and I’ll get on the bus if I am, but I’ve seen Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie play in men’s events in the past. So that begs the question, if the level of play is worse in one league compared to another, why shouldn’t there be a pay gap? Take any major sports league. When you compare the difference in, say, Major League Baseball, the difference in the level of play between the bottom MLB players and the top Triple A players is minimal, but the pay gap is huge. This is ultimately driven by viewership. If more people watched Triple A baseball, they’d get more money. If you’re one of those who agrees with the video and feels compelled to argue, perhaps you’d be better off watching women’s sports and taking your friends to their events instead of arguing with me. It’s the lack of putting your money where your mouth is on this issue that causes the problem in the first place.
