It's like, there's internalized misogyny, and then there's _this._ This is _so_ much more than that, like she was raised by a herd of obnoxious uncles or something? And instead of picking up the (still wrong) lesson to become "not like _other_ girls," she learned that she got to become an absolute monster once a month. *_Lycan't believe it!_*

@@lorilancaster5917I've dreamed of doing that. I know...the grass is greener on the other side but it would be nice to be able to sit and relax while I bleed my guts out without feeling like I'm lazy. It would be expected of me to do that whereas today, when I use my period as an excuse to relax, I hear my Mom's and everyone else's voice in my head, "Why are you so lazy? Get up and find something to do or I'll find it for you. Oh....you feel pain? Quit being such a wimp and get moving before I give you something to complain about." I encourage my girls to track their cycles and never be ashamed to rest when t hey feel they it as long as they can tell me one thing they accomplished each day (above and beyond getting out of bed....this accomplishment I accept once a week without expecting more....everyone need flexibility to do this without guilt as long as it doesn'tget out of hand). I wish I could feel good about choosing to rest (I do rest but rarely feel good about it) and hope women can be given that choice to live in a hut OR work OR play every time their period comes. I suspect it won't happen because corporations want hard workers and will hire the people who don't take monthly breaks.

Women don't actually behave like this when we're on our period. We get moody and may yell, but most of the time, it's sarcasm or just silence. We are in too much pain to actually get full on aggressive. So this child is literally doing this simply because she wants to. I've been getting periods since I was 9, and I've never seen or know anyone to get abusive over their period starting. And the first one even with the talk happening you 9/10 think you're dying when it starts because it's so much blood and you weren't prepared in some way. Yes she's a kid but she's also a big bitch.

I think ‘commitment test’ is what people like her say because ‘I want to feel like you’d be devastated without me and/or want the ‘romance’ of you fighting for me’ reveals the less-than-flattering motivations that inevitably underpin such moves. Thing is she lived out in the country and there really were no other kids around so my brother just didn't hang around with her at all. We weren't being mean we just didn't want to get yelled at. It honestly didn't take her that long to get over it because she wanted to do the stuff we were doing...

The second story: There is a disorder called PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). In short, it causes an extremt of what is usual moodswings/anger/sandness during/before ones period. It can cause someone to go from being their happy normal self to wanting to (and trying to) off themselves over night. It can cause extreme anger, sadness and exhaustion. Some people withthis disorder have to be hospitalised in a psychiatric unit because it gets so bad. However, if this was the case in this story, it would probably have started before the period. It's usually actuve from 1-2 weeks before the period until a couple of days in. I'm also unsure if PMDD is developed over time or if it can be present at the first period. I just wanted to mention all this because I think it's important to spread awareness of this, not so unusual, disorder. About 5-8% of menstruating women experience PMDD (in varying severity). I'm sceptical to if this girl actually has it.

They both need therapy because obviously neither of them healed from the past. But it doesn't mean she can hurt anyone and being a total freak, OP is not a AH, it's totally normal to protect her own son and refuse to take someone else burden on her. I'm not sure if this justifies the 11-year-old's behavior, but I do think OP mishandled the situation from the beginning. Also, you CAN swim on your period. The boyfriend definitely handled it worse than OP.

Story 4, yeah, i saw that coming. No relationship is going to be a healthy one when you start it out with sex and THEN decide to "be exclusive" If you actually want a healthy committed relationship, then don't have sex until you're in one.

Story 1: I don’t think either of you are in the wrong for falling for each other, when you boil it down your two single consenting adults and that’s all there is to it. Plus, you don’t owe your exs anything, what are they gonna do be upset that the two people they cheated on found happiness in each other? I will say maybe you two should slow down a bit, I’m not trying to invalidate your feelings, just the two of you were cheated on and this might be a rebound thing. That’s not the say it’s impossible. The two of you aren’t falling for each other or anything like that just that you’re moving pretty fast for people that aren’t even divorced yet.

RSLASH- We just moved from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho to Springfield, Illinois. My mom came to visit us on Christmas and unexpectedly passed away. It’s been terrible but we didn’t to move into her home, since it was so much a part of her( she’s had it for 43 years). It took 26 hours and every single minute of the drive, I had RSLASH videos playing, thanks so much for keeping us entertained ❤

Story 2: The fact that the daughter was fine while she was alone with OP shows that her behaviour was performative, which IMO, makes it worse. Her dad catering to that nonsense is only going to encourage it. That's how you raise a terrible human.

Story 2: OP you been having a period longer then her, have you or any woman you know have ever acted like that, even for your first time? I know I didn’t and I don’t know anyone who has. Yeah you can be more sensitive or get more easily irritated, but that girl was clearly milking it, and your ex is just being a stupid pushover. At my experience, my mom showed me how to use a pad and my dad gave me ice cream but that was it. ( I don’t know why my dad thought you’re supposed to get ice cream for your first period but I wasn’t complaining.)

*First OP:* LOL at "Ooh, how kinky!" OP's stbx and her boss cheated on their spouses, so if they feel uncomfortable with OP being seen with the boss' ex, oh well! It wouldn't have happened if they didn't cheat. OP is NTA. *Second OP:* Why am I imagining an 11-year-old Angelica Pickles while reading this story? OP is NTA. Someone had to have a backbone. *Third OP:* They _planned_ the pregnancy and have no source of income? Oh, dear. OP is NTA. Best of luck to everyone involved. *Fourth OP:* This feels like an example of "don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to." And FAFO. OP is NTA. Anyone who would test their partner like that is not mature enough to be in a relationship. *Fifth OP:* That was a great way to shut down the critics. Also, OP's stbx already chose her affair partner over OP when she cheated. OP is NTA.

second OP: We did get to see a 12 year old Angelica Pickles in All Grown Up (yes I know it's polarizing, shut up) and she didn't act like this. A bit sneaky and spoiled, sure, but not that unhinged.

Story 2: I think I know why the mom didn’t want custody. It would be hell to have your kid be like that, and have the dad constantly enable this insane behaviour. Parents, please don’t be like the playdough in the hands of your child. They are soooooo capable of manipulation, and their parents are soooo dang blind to it.

Holding hands?! Disgusting

How DARE they! True Story: My then Boyfriend and I were hounded by people at our church for holding hands in public (we suspect....that and a hug here or there is all we did and we were accused of too much PDA but only the leaders talked to us....not our accusers.....the leaders wven told us they don't know what were specifically doing that was inappropriate to cause others to complain). It was getting so ridiculous that I wrote my now husband a note and said, "Let's just get married and shut these people up." He said said he was thinking the same thing. Roughly 6-7 months after meeting, we held a ceremony in front of the entire congregation. The next service afterwards, we didn't care and upped our antics to wrapping our arms around each other's backs in public. Maybe a kiss here or there. We got even more complaints. Lucky for then, I had to leave hubby behind for a few months for my job. Been married for 20+ years now. I still love holding his hand when I can.

Story 2: I can't believe no one's bringing this up but, if food was in the slow cooker for dinner, that means it WASN'T COOKED YET when it was eaten. So the daughter ate uncooked/half cooked chili. Ew. That's gross and potentially unhealthy if there was meat in it. Like, wtf?

4:44 The daughter knows more about having a period than she is letting on. Every bit of her behaviour during her FIRST period shows that she is well aware what it is, what it does, and what happens. Problem is, she has focused too much on the behavioural changes and patterns that are NOT common for every person. She is not only going through the motions to get attention, but she is also weaponizing it with her dad, who is obviously weak where she is concerned. She is acting as if she is pregnant, not just on her period. Your BF wants to buy it, OP? Fine. But you don’t have to, and you also don’t have to watch your son be abused. It’s your home. It’s his home. She can use her passive daddy as a verbal, emotional, and physical punching bag who always has to have her way when she’s on her cycle when they live on their own.

Story 2: I have to wonder if something else is going on with the kid. Because I have exceptional awful periods myself, bed ridden with pain, bloated, extremely emotional etc but I've never -or ever wanted to- body slam someone over it. I've gotten angry and shouted when I shouldn't have, I'll admit, but this feels like something else is also going on and the hormones are only making it worse. The boyfriend is doing that little girl no favors by not helping her handle her feelings properly.

I got my period at 10, right before my bday. Normally for my bday we'd go to the falls and swim and bbq all day, but that year we stayed home and grilled and hung out in the backyard. I was in pain for sure but I wouldn't even dream of being physically and verbally abusive to my family just for being in pain. That girl needs to learn as soon as humanly possible that the monthly bleed isn't an excuse to be an absolutely horrible disgusting excuse of a human to everyone in her life.
