They compliment each other really well. They are both good defenders. If one could learn something from the other John should look towards being a bit more aggressive and Ruben could improve his game on the ball which is where John has him. But again, very good at what they do. Will be interesting to see how Ruben stacks up as best defender when VVD is back. I can't wait, Ruben is so young its scary to think what he could become.

The way Stonesy dribbles the ball into tight areas and pings in those long balls you might as well think of him as a cdm/cm, always looked better alongside a leader, be it Kompany, Maguire or Dias. The guy is an absolute baller

@@jordanbrown8027 maguire of leicester was a hundred times more composed defender than what he is now. Go back to the wc and you'll see what i mean. Maguire used to marshal around the back 5 pretty well. There's a reason why even pep wanted him at one point.

@@origin5051 They played two good teams in the WC : Belgium (twice) & Croatia. They lost all the 3 games. Leicester is a defensive team, easier for CBs to defend in their own box, that's why United was defensively solid only when they parked the bus and counter attacked like recently against City. Maguire is a leader lol? His passport and price tag gives him a special status and the reason he was given the armband and was undroppable even after he had a shocking game.

well every club will be jealous with mancity central defender depth they have the greatest duo currently + two greates backups in laporte and ake ( i even cant say they are backups bcs they easily gettin into starting line up in every team)

LaPorte is NOT yet at the same level as before his ACL injury. In my humble opinion he is damaging Dias's confidence and does not have the same chemistry as Stones does. View both Chelsea goals and even the Palace game he was very shaky, turned his back on Ziyech for CFC equaliser rather than put body on the line and block (as Dias or Stones) regularly do. His ball movement of course is still very slow and ponderous, often taking far too long to make a simple forward decision resulting in loss of momentum and purpose. Facts are out there
