I was reminded tonight by a fellow working drummer in Austin, TX that RIMS mounts were an option for me to put aome legs on my 16" floor tom. I'm bummed to learn that they're no longer in production. Still, i fired off an emial in case there's one laying around that i could use.

Looking over the comments, I must say this is the most responsive business that markets their products via KZfaq. I'll be looking to purchase this mounting system when I upgrade to my new drum set next year.

My Gauger, et. al. per my previous post on your RIMS tom assembly demo on You Tube, I am a life-long drummer but am new to RIMS, as I am thinking about buying a new Vistalite kit and through research, I don't want to shell mount vistalite-shelled drums. I have seen RIMS mounts on rack toms but have not seen many (to the best of my memory) RIMS mounts on Floor Toms. Are these as common as rack toms (i.e. using RIMS)? Thanks, Brendan
@adamgauger71986 жыл бұрын
Brendan, Our most popular sizes by far for RIMS® are ten inch, twelve inch, and thirteen inch sizes, so definitely the rack toms. The Dynamount™ that we detail in this video is often a great option for drummers converting larger toms into floor toms and they don't want to drill holes in their shells. We do also have the option of using RIMS® mounts for drums up to sixteen inches and mounting them off stands.

The part used at 5:17 for the leg and mounting hardware could be any generic part like Gibraltar ones? Thanks for your help :)
@adamgauger71988 жыл бұрын
+Chepe Guzmán Yes, most generic leg brackets will work with our Dynamount™. Gibraltar ones should be fine. Specifically, our plate that the bracket attaches to accepts two vertical screws spaced 2 inches to 2 1/4 inches apart. In millimeters, that's 50.8mm to 57.78mm.

Hey +Adam Gauger, thanks for your help! Our 14 and 16 toms are successfully installed with the suspension system, we used the Gibraltar parts! :) Great product and easy assembly!

+Chepe Guzmán You're welcome, Chepe. Glad the mounts are working for you!

What leg thickness do these take! Do 12.7 mill legs fit?
@adamodieg4 жыл бұрын
Any number of leg brackets can be used with the Dynamount™, so as long as you use a bracket that fits the Dynamount™ leg plate, then there's not limit on the leg size itself. The spacing on our plate is 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches apart, which fits most brackets out there. The Dynamount™ doesn't come with legs or leg brackets, as most people already have those.

Could you use these same parts on a 22" bass drum? I'm trying to convert 2 22 bass drums into rack Tom's or whatever they're called
@TempoDrift14804 жыл бұрын
Are you stupid or something? You can't observe the process of this assembly and judge for yourself wether these will work on a 22 inch drum? You need to work on some more elementary shit than converting bass drums.

@@TempoDrift1480 you must be, seeing how you're so comfortable saying shit behind a screen. Don't matter anyways you and your comment are worthless

You actually order based on the size of your drum. So a 14" Dynamount™ means that you are ordering for a 14" drum. You DO NOT order a 14" Dynamount™ for a 13" drum. Hope that answers your question.

I'm willing to bet that about 7 percent of customers will have enough brains to put this together. I'm willing to bet that there is at least one comment about not owning a 7/16 wrench and wanting a link to order one.

How can I order this in Australia? Cheers

Hi Deva. You can order any of our products through our website, gaugerpercussion.com. We do sell and ship a fair amount of orders to Australia. If you go to the website and have any questions, feel free to email us and we will be happy to answer.

anyone knows how to install a 16" gauger suspended mount on a floor tom (not the cradle)
@adamodieg8 жыл бұрын
+Darell Murray We do have a RIMS® rack mount assembly video available. I will leave the link here for you. In the video, we install it on a 10" drum, but it gives you a good idea of how to do it for any size. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gr6afJN8tNXFinU.html

Thanks btw.... I installed it and it's amazing. I needed a solid stand to hold that floor tom tho.

Look at 6'27". Just change those tiny rubber feet for Pearl Suspensionfeet in one minute and you're ready..... ;)
@adamgauger71986 жыл бұрын
Many people that use the Dynamount™ are converting a rack mounted drum into a floor tom, so there are no holes in their drum, and they don't want to drill their shells. Also, it should be noted, we have heard from many drummers (and have experienced it ourselves) that Pearl's floor tom feet don't work well depending on the surface the drum is on. Different drums have different sensitivities, so I'm sure for some, they work just fine. But we also offer isolation feet called Flex Tips™ that utilize a low harmonic frequency spring and do a better job of isolating on a variety of surfaces.

Adam. Thanks for your answer. I didn't mean to imply that the Dynamount is overated and I didn't mean to be disrepectfull. On the contrary, the reason I found this video is the fact that I need such a system for my 16x14 and 14x12 Pearl Masters Custom toms to turn them into floortoms without drilling. However, seeing the small rubber feet in the video made me post this! And though the Pearl Suspensionfeet worked very well for me on some other floortoms that I have, i'm sure that it's not always the Holy Grail, as you so clearly point out! Regards, Coos
@adamgauger71986 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Coos. I didn't think you were being disrespectful. I just never know how familiar people are with our products if they come across one of the videos, so I was only providing the basic information.
@Public_Beds7 жыл бұрын
Nahhh. Why go through all this shit just to resonate your floor tom more? I'd rather stick to my Pearl floor tom legs that makes my floor tom resonate more than enough.
@alexanderjamieson79717 жыл бұрын
It's just the air suspension feet that do the trick on those pearl legs. I swapped out the old cheapo rubber feet that were on my floor tom with the Pearl Air suspension feet and was blown away by the huge difference in resonance. I wonder what would happen those feet were combined with this mounting system? I think with this system, the floor tom would move around much less because it's more isolated from the ground.
@TempoDrift14804 жыл бұрын
Yeah I run those as well and that's the first thing folks say when they play my drums is how my floors fuckin rock. I just wish they made a 10.5 mm for a larger leg.
