It was confirmed that it actually has a 6BT.Also,there's no way at all an 855 series would fit under that hood.The M35A2's-M756A2's all came with LDT-465's & LDS-465's which are 7.8L.The NHC-250's were used in the AM General M812-M820's and discontinued after the M923A1's-M945A1's when the A2's came with 6CT's.

They have air lock my guy. They definitely was both pulling. All the axles diff lock.

There is air lockers that can be purchased for five ton trucks,but this is a deuce and a half. Also,the transfer case can be used to send power to the front axle if it absolutely needs it.The granny gear isn't the only thing. None of these trucks had air equipped lockers.Air actuated lockers actually exist on Oshkosh trucks.The lockers on these older trucks are purely mechanical. While having rear axles that can lock,there was testbed trucks in the Navy Seabees and USMC that came with lockers on the front.The project was discontinued.

It happens that my Reo is 1969 and was purchased by the Brazilian Navy. In 1992 the Navy sent the trucks to Cummins Military and it repontentialized.

M35, gas truck. m35a1, multifuel 427. M35a2 multifuel ldt 465. M35a3 cummins and auto trans. Mine is made by kaiser. They were made by a ton of different companies so arguing about it being an reo is kinda moot. Mine was built in 54 as a a1 and updated to an a2 later. You can even find early gassers that were converted to the a2 and even a3 with the Cummins and automatic trans. None of these trucks are factory original anymore. You can't even trust the milage on the dash because they would change out the whole dash cluster to fix a bad tack or speedo. But I digress this is all moot because this truck is NONE OF THOSE. its a 5 ton. They have the same cab, bed, frame, trans, and an uprated ldt multifuel but the rest of the running gear is all different. Its an m54.

@@jameshathaway5117 You didn't read his or my comments.The truck is a 1969 M35A2,and it is from Reo,BUT it would be Diamond Reo in reality because both Reo and Diamond T merged into one company in 1967.It can't be made by Reo or Diamond T seperate after 1967,because they merged into one that year. Reo-Diamond T/Diamond Reo,Studebaker,Kaiser Jeep,and AM General all built deuce and a halfs.The M34 Eagle Beaver was a gas truck just like the M35,both having the OA-331 from Reo and Continental.The M35A1 had the LDT-427 as you already said.And the M35A2-M756A2 actually had the LDT-465,LT-465,and LDS-465.The LDT-465 and LDS-465 was also used in the M51A2-M62A2 after the M51A1-M62A1 with the Mack Thermodyne was discontinued.And then the M35A3-M109A4 all had the 3116.
