Timbo428CJ..... Yes, there are... but you would disintegrate a T/F motor, trying to turn them!! They're made for LARGE Marine Diesels.. some of which produce As much as 7,864 HP in just One cylinder. The Largest in the world is the Wartzila RT- Flex96C.. and in its largest version, an inline 14 cylinder... it develops 109,000hp and over 5.4 Million lbs ft of torque.... at a wide open throttle speed of.. 102 rpm!! The crankshaft, alone... weighs 300 Tons!!

Why not mount a camera on the rear wing that looks down on the engine. There could be a split screen showing the driver and the engine. The video of the engine could be used to diagnose problems. The exhaust from each cylinder could be analyzed by its colour.

Everything going on in the engine..by cylinder, is already analyzed via the race-pac, the computer, and on the screen in Jim O's "office" in the trailer after each and every run.

@@Romans--bo7br Right, so one of the sensors went bad and caused an ehgine shutdown during a race? A camera(s) could see if all cylinders were firing and if linked to an AI overide the shutdown? How about a mop machine that wipes the track a few yards in front of the wheels after the tires are warmed up? It would remove the moisture on the track. It would be a large cylindrical mop that would spin with wheels at the ends. This may improve times, set new records.
