Race ReCap: Black Canyon 100K Ultra Trail Race

After my first Ultra Trail race last October at the Javelina Jundred, I got a call from my long time running shoe sponsor Hoka that they wanted to gift me one of their sponsorships Golden Ticket slots into the Western States 100, one of the most iconic trail races in the world. I was beyond excited, humbled, grateful, and so pumped......but I also had only competed in the one trail race and hadn't earned one of the Golden Tickets that were up for grabs that day. So I told Mike from Hoka that I still wanted to try to earn my spot at the start line of Western States and so I signed up for the Black Canyons 100K and raced to earn my spot.
This video is a recap of my day. I hope you enjoy the video!

Awesome work, I watched parts of the race live and then saw an almost hour recap and didn’t think I’d make it through the video without skipping forward. Awesomely put together and entertained the whole way through. You ultra runners are crazy😂

I love this for you!!! I missed a lot of the early coverage and when I tuned in the commentators were so skeptical of your ability. I missed all of the glorious earlier coverage of you. Congrats on earing your starting line spot at WS. The best part of the video was telling YT and your fans, that you want to earn the right to be there. Like KONA! I hope you forcheck the Hoka rep and stand over him/her saying "Im an endurance athlete. Nothing is given But EARNED" !!!!! Then enjoy your 2min minor. lol Happy woman's day!

I've heard it said that the downhills are a thing that can be specifically practiced to gain the ability to bomb them without falling. "Controlled falling", lol. I'll be cheering for you in June!
