They could bring back a clone antagonist and call him Horr-again. The Whitespring is an Enclave resort/bunker, in the golf club there is a baby stroller which has the name "Gary" spelled out in blocks inside it. I reckon this is a hint at the Enclave having cloning technology. A fun idea from my head-canon for you, anyway.

I remember the PnP game that was linked in the Bible. Made by a guy named Jason Michal if I remember right. It was basically the system that ran the computer game. I had the game printed out and spiral bound at Staples. Still sits on my shelf even though I never got a chance to play it. Used to have a pretty thriving community with source books and adventure modules. Edit: fixed for spelling mistakes

I can answer Chris question as well. I play basically any rpg or ttrpg I can get my hands on, the reason is because I love the mechanics. I have probably 100 different free game books for so many ttrpgs, and even if I don't play them exactly they're great tools when coming up with your own game. I find myself taking rolling mechanics from apocalypse world and applying them to any other base lore I create or take from other sources. There's so much room for creativity and change that there's never a session that feels like the same thing.

I don't know how I feel about Psykers in fallout, don't get me wrong I think the concept is cool, but it could easily be overused. I think the best balance is that there shouldn't be more than two or six of them at any given time. They should feel insanely rare for two reasons, one because random mutations manifesting in such a powerful way with out killing the person should be highly unlikely even with a guiding scientific hand, and two even if successful with naturally or artificially manipulating a person's genome to create a psyker doesn't mean that person will survive until adulthood imagine a young pyro Psyker accidentally burning themselves alive or a mind-reading Psykar being executed for "witchcraft" by one of the many superstitious wasteland towns. Though I do think a video about which NPCs could be secret or undiagnosed Psykers could be interesting. Even then I think that list is pretty short. Off the top my head... maybe Mama Murphy or the Ant-tagonist,
@Rad_King
@Rad_King 2 жыл бұрын
You bring up good points. I do feel like psykers could easily get out of hand so maybe their current handling of psykers is the best. I can’t shake the feeling though that some very memorable characters and even some villains could secretly or sometimes not so secretly have some limited psyker abilities.
@jessebates2884
@jessebates2884 2 жыл бұрын
A villain Psyker would be amazing, the imagination runs wild with the possibilities... for example a psyker with control over magnetic fields in a suit of power armor would be bad ass. Or the children of atom could have a false "chosen one" come into power who doesn't believe in atoms glow but has some radiation or weak nuclear force power. Even something as simple as a evil Doctor Dolittle type villain who can talk/mentally control wasteland animals. At the end of the day this is a series that has alien Zetians*, giant patriotic robots, a living tree man, and a slight possibility that sentient raccoons begin some sort of Adam and Eve situation. I wouldn't want them to go overboard either but at this point what's too wild to be wild. I think psykers can be handled as long as it's handled right. In the classic Fallout way, there's always a honorable downside to that kind of power.

As I understood it, the kopis sword was brought East by Alexander’s armies, where it eventually became the basis of the kukri. Meanwhile the leaf-bladed xiphos would later influence the gladius.

They look really cool and it would be awesome to have them, at least as a really secret enemy or easter egg in future fallouts. It would be better if they were from alien origins too, or at least another Enclave/US experiment with alien tech, like the plasma weapons, I think it would improve the mystery that surrounds them

The comment at the end about prehistoric humans is absolutely right. What we know as civilization is less than 10,000 years old, but hominids have been around for possibly as long as 6 million years, depending on where in our evolution we delineate the beginning of the genus Homo. Even if we only count Homo sapiens, we're still talking at least 200,000 years. Those alien artifacts might predate human civilization as we define it today, but likely not the existence of humanity in general.

Regarding the "Machete Gladius" that the Legion uses, it does look a bit like a south-Asian kukri, but it also has some resemblance to certain Greek swords, a design that often goes under the name "kopis". There are also some other names that may be attributable to similar swords with broad, forward-swept blades of the ancient Greek world, like "falcata", or "makhaira". I don't know that the romans ever used anything like this, but it at least makes more sense as a source of inspiration.

The machte gladius I believe to actually be inspired by the Greek kopis, which does remarkablely resemble a kukri in some aspects. It is also possibly a reference to the gladius hispanienes a roman gladius which according to some sources was based off the curved sword used by some of the Iberian tribes (modern Spain.) Although confusingly the gladius hispanienes is not curved.

47:40 i actually think i can answer this, there is a local mechanics terminal in the concord area in Fallout 4 and some of his notes are on cars that came in the shop, one is about a motorcycle and he talks about it being one of those old gas ones and how its a pain to find parts for. So i guess the answer is both, but gas ones were "classic" and nuclear were modern.

the notiong that the machete gladius is based on the kukri may be erroneous, but not surprising as it is the more well known blade of this shape, as it is still used to this day, instead it is more likely that it is based off of weapons such as the kopis, and the falcata among others, which were used widely in the Mediterranean at the time of Rome, although the gladius name would still be wrong. the weapons may come from a shared ancient root, or be a case of convergent invention, as this shape of blade bridges the gap between a sword/knife and an axe, in the case of the kukri for traversing forests and jungles, and in the case of the kopis and falcata mainly to be used against horses, larger versions being said to be able to decapitate a horse in a single swing.

The commentor is wrong about titanium... if something is abrasion resistant that means the edge of it is as well, all dulling is, is the knives edge being abraded by whatever you're cutting. Titanium edges don't specially wear faster then the rest of the titanium, if it dulls easily it sharpens easily, and titanium isn't hard at all, and has poor abrasion resistance. Its used because it has a high tensile strength= weight ration. Its softness is what makes it bad for knives. Titanium carbide is too brittle for any knife especially a throwing knife... it is used on drill bits and other mrtsl cutting tools.

I was going to suggest something similar but you beat me to it. I couldn't imagine the first letter of the acronym standing for anything other than Federal.

The Wanamingo and psychic answers seem kinda petulant, one is oh you fact checked me so they're dead. For the psychics oh I don't like them so they're dead.

The point of the woman in vault city being specifically design as an African woman is interesting; since we know Chris doesn’t like vault city it’s also likely black isles didn’t like elite type of people and that’s interesting

The question about why the Enclave would experiment on civilians like that is kinda funny because that is literally what the US government does and continues to do lol It is not even out of the realm of possibility
