In this video we'll benchmark the Radeon RX 7800 XT in the latest hit game, Palworld. Palworld released over the weekend and is already breaking records for most concurrent players, as well as being a very controversial topic on Twitter / X due to claims of Generative AI being used to rip off Pokemon.
None of that really matters in context of benchmarking and that is exactly why we are here. Today we'll be testing the RX 7800 XT in Palworld at 1080p, 1440p and 4K using multiple presets, as well as with TAA and TSR.
This game has a lot of elements similar to ARK: Survuval Evolved, so if you enjoy survival games, then I highly recommend you give this one a try!

good thing about AMD is if the devs don't add in FSR , you can enable the super resolution in the adrenalin drivers and set your desktop to a lower resolution while gaming , which will upscale it to the native resolution of your monitor... literally free performance gain for little to no graphics downside at all. Doing this... Palworld @ 1440p (native) grass med , shadow med , view dist epic , TSR , effects & texture low (i really do not see a difference from low to epic besides chunking away the fps...? is it the water looking better?) ~50-60fps same settings but this time 1600x900p (upscaled to native 1440p) 100-130 fps on a 5600 XT

Yeah, that'll definitely help performance while not looking too bad! Nvidia has something similar called NIS, which you can also enable at a driver level and it will upscale, but it doesnt work as well in some games. But that's the awesome thing about PC gaming, there is always something you can do to improve performance!

This was often in the past a problem. AMD has focus on AAA games, but i think not the resources for all games. Many indie games needs time too run on amd gpus good. Day one there was often, problems and when the game was small it never changed.

Yeah, I also think smaller studios tend to focus on the largest marketshare product and then expand from there.

What I found was TAA has a lot of lag when i switched to TSR it was much better

@@14Krater14 Interesting. Only thing I can think of is an FPS cap or v-sync. You should get much higher framerate with that setup.

Hmm. I wonder if there is something wrong with your install or something. My system is 7800xt with i7 13700k and ddr5 6000 and my performance is wayyy better than this.

Not sure, as all my other tests are on par with similar systems. Might be that Palworld runs better on different systems. Which version do you have, Game Pass, or Steam?

The stuttering is Odd I have 7800xt. My settings are epic except for the last two which are set to high and I have FPS limited to 120. I have zero stuttering issues
