I used to work hand assembling and gluing together speaker drivers for pro audio use. Think big concert shit. And I have to say that I'm pretty confident that the methods used here are no different than what the manufactures use and should hold up just fine 👍🏼🎉

On the video of the JL teardown it looked like the original spider was glued down to the frame with a small section of the paint being removed, but there was no closeup so I can't be certain. I did consider maybe gluing to the paint may not be optimal, but if your a godlike painter then that paint should have just as much adherence as any of the epoxy glues.

Install a few leds inside the box, round the basket, so you can juice that paint up at night for max effect.

Suggest you flat black paint the inside edge of the plexi where it joins the box. Also, gotta cover the bed water tight. No matter how much care you take to proof that Medford, it IS going to SWELL:-)

I'd like to see a night shot of the glow. Glad it works fine. It was really odd the impedance was off. I can see being different from stock but should be congruent with the other coil I think. Good work though.

since you talked about the impedance, can you talk about “box rise” and how it effects your setup? Will 1 big amp with multiple subs or smaller amps for each sub will be best to combat the box rise. More subs I ad to my system, the less over all output I have at full tilt. Will getting more smaller amps per sub spread out the impedance rise? Right now I have 2 Skar sk4500.1 strapped on 8 Skar EVL 10” wired down to 0.5 ohms. At full tilt my impedance goes up to 3.3. Will switching to 4 Skar RP2000.1 spread around the box rise and allow me to get more over all power than my (2) 4500.1? Im thinking it will help with over heating as well since it spread over multiple boards. What do you think Doug?
