I had many of those products in the 80s and really loved them. It's weird how the world changes. Back then I knew old guys in the 50s with tube radios had lived in a different pre-solid state world. For some reason I imagined the world had reached equilibrium and electronics wouldn't change much in my life.

Never had a CB radio, but my dad was an avid Radio Shack customer back in the '80s. Our 1st computer was a Tandy 1000, which I mainly used to play Dr. J. vs. Larry Bird basketball, and some other football game (dad got the joysticks too). Oh, and then I did some word processing for schoolwork too.

Remember when people who worked at retail stores had at least some general knowledge of the store products and were capable of talking with other human beings?

So lucky to grow up in a non digital audio world 🌎. The sound was so clear. Then digital emergency radio transmitting came out and you couldn't understand anything they were saying, audio sound was awful. It became tinny sounding and muffled all at the same time . Today, you can't hear police 🚨 at all ugh . Government overreach, because God forbid you know what's going on in your town. They hide the crime from you so you won't complain under the guise of offer safety.
