I LOVE that this is a rap battle between Shredder and the Turtles. “It’s time to call the wolves.”

I literally sat there with my cousin while fighting shredder and I said, “IS THAT GHOSTFACE?!” And he stopped and listened and said “WTF IT IS!!!” I haven’t enjoyed an arcade game like this since I was a child. Thank you for making me a big ass kid this past week.

This song made the Shredder boss fight one of the most memorable boss fights in all of gaming for me. This was epic.

Whoever came up with the idea of scrappin with Shredder to a rap beat deserves a gold star. Totally matches the urban street vibe the series always had.

I feel this song rightly demonstrates that Shredder’s threats are seen a challenge to the heroes, and every character has accepted that challenge. Leonardo is proving why he leads the Turtles. Michelangelo is showing that for all his joking, he’s still a master ninja. Raphael has the chance to let off some steam on a big source of frustration. Donatello is using such a simple weapon and his brains to take down the big guy. April is making it clear she will no longer be the damsel in distress she’s been so many times. Splinter is settling the score with the old rival that made him an outcast. And where others may see Shredder as a supervillain, all Casey Jones sees is another criminal that needs to be put in his place. And none of them came to lose.

I love how the song starts menacing and cruel-sounding with Ghostface Killah's verse being from Shredder's POV, but then at the halfway point it becomes more hopeful and determined with Raekwon's verse from the turtle's POV.

Don't think anyone playing this for the first time ever expected a rap track for Shredder's fight. I'm one of them, and I wasn't disappointed.

I was joking about this song being by Wu-Tang, but it actually is! This game has solely made me a TMNT fan!

About a week before this game dropped I was telling my son who is eight and just had a birthday, about my eighth birthday. My father took me and three of my friends to a go cart track that had a big arcade inside. As soon as we spotted the TMNT arcade we ditched the go carts and my dad began feeding us all quarters for the machine. I have no idea how much my dad had to spend that day on the four of us but he went back and forth to the change machine, drank beer, and rooted us on for more than a few hours that afternoon. If I had to guess I would say it took at least a Hundo for us to finally defeat Shredder. I couldn’t have been happier. All my son talked about was him and I beating this game when it came out. I got it the day it came out and he and I sat and played all the through in a couple hours. Thank god it didn’t cost me what it cost my father to see the final credits. The nostalgia in general topped with the fact I was playing through this game with my son and remembering how exciting it was for me at his age, it just felt good. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better we make it to Shredder and suddenly I hear Ghost spittin’ about “pizza pizza” and my son immediately recognizes as well because I mean he hasn’t really had any choice in what music he’s taken in thus far in his life. He says “This is Wu-Tang right dad? You’re right they really are the best!” I didn’t expect this track to drop, I didn’t expect my son to recognize as fast as I myself did, and because it was on this game my son has found a respect for these artists that I love. A respect that otherwise may have taken him years to gain on his own if ever. He very likely could’ve chalked it up to some “old head shit” or something. You know how kids are. But Ghost and Rae killed it. They’ve earned a new fan without a doubt. And boy when I heard that shit come in while fighting Shredder I was sent. Somewhere like 92’ or 93’. It felt great. Sounded better. The only problem I had was I needed more. I could’ve stomped foot clan ass with my son and listened to Ghost and Chef for the entire soundtrack. Whoever made this happen. . . PAY THAT MAN! GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS! RIP Dad. And Ghost you’ll always be the greatest as far as I’m concerned. Wu Tang is for the children! Zoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

As an 80s baby my favorite Toy, Cartoon, Movie and Arcade was TMNT. I grew up to be a hip-hop head with Wu-tang being my favorite group... This is the best shit ever.

My first run of this game was with Splinter, playing the Splinter Vs. Shredder matchup coupled with this track sent me pretty good.

The last thing I was expecting from the Shredder fight was a rap diss track to the turtles. I wish he got some more lines with his verse, but this theme always makes the encounter with Shredder a treat. Definitely the toughest boss in the game, imo.

Love how the turtles have a wicked theme in the third act to remind you that you're badass Just to give the same privilege to the game's main antagonist. Yeah, Shredder isn't a pushover, but he has a sick first verse in his boss theme. He's THAT good.
