Here my new Vikings video !!!
With ragnar lothbrok, the man I most admire, I wanted to make a video about what he accomplished and where he failed, The probability is great for him to die this season, Maybe I should have waited in order to have more extract on what he can still do! But I could not wait any longer!!

I don't know.. Cillian's Thomas Shelby is as good too, so these two share the number 1 spot for me but Thomas shelby is still alive for season 5 of The Peaky Blinders and Ragnar is dead.. So right now I prefer Tommy fookin shelby

Definitely. I never connected or was particularly interested in anyone from Game of Thrones like I was in Vikings. No character even comes close to the level of interest Ragnar draws, and even though he's dead, the side characters were developed well enough to take center stage easily and continue to draw attention. That's not to say it's a bad series, it's just, Vikings is better.

Travis Fimmel: Some actors are better with words than me, I prefer to play it rather than say it - and keep people thinking. My biggest thing with Ragnar was to make him relatable, to show why he does some bad stuff. He does everything for his family and people. If that means chopping a few heads off, so be it. Love it!!!!!!!!

I like the show, but why the dumb high pitched voices and why haven't they done any research to pronounce the Scandinavian names properly? It's so easy! Hire a native. I speak Norwegian and it's so annoying to hear murdered words and names all the time. 😠 Ridiculous.

All in none other than his name . RAGNAR! That's what they all shouted before charging into Battle with the brits . Ragnar Lodbrok actually refers to 2 characters: One was a jarl under the danish king Hårik (mid 800). That character was written by Saxo Grammaticus (christian), 200 years after Ragnar existed. This tale, is what they evolved the show around (with 80% fictional addons). The second Ragnar was mentioned in Icelandic writings (aprox 800). They refer to Ragnar Sigurdsson, son of the swedish king Sigurd Ring (mid 700). That story, was sung by the correct religion during the correct time.

Now I can see the whole plot. It has always been a battle for Ragnar's soul. And what his journey west has done is that he wants to gain enlightenment. And what has happened is that the gods do not wish for the cultural integration with the west due to Christianity, which had already overturned all the previous pagan gods of Europe. But Ragnar had defied the gods, defied convention and is the first Viking to sincerely underwent the baptism. Rollo's baptism was a farce. Ever since his baptism, the gods were at war with him and cursed him. And through the death of Ragnar his political machinations have caused the Vikings to have to travel en masse to Anglo Saxon England to be exposed to Christianity. To be honest Ragnar's death is the beginning of the christianization and the inclusion of the Scandinavian peoples to Europe. By the 10th century they will be fully converted and become a true European power player

TMD which was basically an act to convince his sons and his peoples to invade England and punish Ecbert and Aelle. Ecbert already told him he could read his actions and he did it not because he believed in the gods but for a political ultimatum. He already said he didn't believe the gods as the seer even admitted the gods aren't always right and he himself had also questioned and searched for meaning. So you see, Ragnar himself already discovered why he as a pioneer of the Scandinavian peoples had started to question his own beliefs since Aethelstan came into the picture

Yes he was baptized yes he wanted to see Athelstan. But I hardly call it sincere. It was a way to Paris. The ONLY way in paris. He didn't give a shit about christians, or god or his soul. Just about athelstan n Paris. Was he as successful in the end? I guess not but he was more successful then most still. Hardly call him cursed. In the end he defied the "gods" with his death. Everyone he cared about still loved him. He defied aella. He got his revenge on ecbert. So cursed? Baptisms? Meh details imo. He fashioned the course of his life n his death. You see things that are not there. Ragnar became an atheist (although it is possible that he reverted to his pagan beliefs in the end before his death ). The baptism was a trick. When Ragnar saw the church during the fight on the walls of Paris he realized the prophesy of the Seer and made a plan to take the city. That s it. In the end he made the speech to King Aelle about his gods in order to rally all the pagans and his sons. Your comment is pretty much fan fiction.

A bit late to see this. But what an amazing Tribute. Ragnar is the best character of all time and will always be my favourite. Such a developed character and I just love him man. Sad to see him gone but the show will never be the same without him. However, I still think the series is still as good. For the show to carry on without Ragnar shows balls. Someone who’s carried the show for so long and made the show what it is now. If it wasn’t for Ragnar, this series would never be my favourite but it is, even ahead of Game of thrones. I guess the history was that his sons were more famous than himself and Vikings is more about the sons of Ragnar. But man, this character will be missed until the end of this spectacular show. Can’t wait for season 5b. Again, great video man. Keep it up!

What an amazing actor. I love this character so much. I saw Travis Fimmel in Danger Close: The Battle Of Long Tang and the entire time I was thing of Ragnar. Vikings will never be the same. :(, it's still great (ten times better than GoT, though) but not the same without Travis.

Out of all the characters we lose across various shows, I felt that Ragnar’s exit was the most well done out of all of them. Allowing him to go back and see everyone again....it was beautiful and did the character full justice.
