During my brief stay in Northern California, I visited a location that has been on my "railfan bucket list" for quite a while... Jack London Square in Oakland, California. Here in Jack London Square, the tracks run down the center of the street negotiating several grade crossings. If you are into horns, as I am, this is the location to visit! It's also pretty neat to see the trains running right down the middle of the street!
Amtrak Capitol Corridors, San Joaquins, and the Coast Starlight are featured in the video... filmed on two separate mornings in August 2016.
Train #1 - A San Joaquin departs Oakland led by Cabcar #8311, Nice K5LA!
Train #2 - A San Joaquin arrives into Oakland led by F59PHI #2015.
Train #3 - Cabcar #8312, with a fouled K5LA horn, leads a Capitol Corridor.
Train #4 - P42DC #176 leads a Capitol Corridor train into Oakland.
Train #5 - San Joaquin train with F59PHI #2005 leading with a nice horn!
Train #6 - Cabcar #8309 with another good K5LA horn, heads out of the Square.
Train #7 - San Joaquin departs Oakland Jack London with Cabcar #6961 leading. Nice K5LA on this one too!
Train #8 - Amtrak Coast Starlight #11 slowly rolls down the street, running 2 hours late. P42DC #129 leads, rocking a smooth 3rd Gen K5LA horn! All quill, but solid tune!
Train #9 - Capitol Corridor passes by with F59PHI #2007 on point.
Train #10 - Cabcar #8308 leads a Capitol Corridor out of Oakland.
Train #11 - A San Joaquin arrives into Oakland with P42DC #76 leading. Solid K5LA!
