Railfanning Ohio: Columbus to Portsmouth, the NS Portsmouth Yard, and a CSX Train in Maysville

Hey everyone and welcome back.
This is a trip from the Norfolk Southern Rickenbacker Yard in Columbus to its yard in Portsmouth and finishes up with a CSX train in Maysville, Ky.
This was a fun trip and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking to railfan a Saturday or Sunday.
I hope you enjoy.

61U is an empty fertilizer train. Goes to Lees Creek, NC irrc. Comes back as a 60U.

Thanks for the Maysville shots. I always appreciate those. It was nice to see how the Portsmouth yard fits in the overall NS routing. That's quite the large yard for not being in a major city.

I've worked out of the lockborne intermodal facility for the last 2 years. Were either super busy cycling every 2 hours or parsec takes 8 hours to unload a section

Those automobile bridges remind me of two more as well. The east end of Louisville's I-265 bridge and the William Natcher bridge near Owensboro, KY.

Thank you for the video. It would be interesting for the drone to take a closer look at the Ohio river flood wall closing structures where the railway pass is through the flood wall. I wonder what the railroad does with its traffic when these flood wall gates are closed? Thanks again for the train videos!

Idk if you come here but you should do bnsf northtown Yard in Minneapolis MN. There's lots of good places and rare engines in the storage tracks.

Great drone shots of the Portsmouth and Waverly area. My folks grew up in that area so I made many trips there to visit family. Your drone video gives a more visual aspect of the area than you see from the highways. I am 80 year old now, but I remember watching steam locomotives hauling coal up north on the very same rail line of your video.
